23.01.2022 Just a quick update to say that we are only a few weeks away from being back at the Kalamunda Farmers Market! Our seedlings and produce are coming along nicely but the seedlings just need another week or so as we like to make sure they are nice and strong before we sell them on. We love this time of year as some of our Tulips, various bulbs and Daffodils are out and we also have three new members to the Heirloom garden, three Isa Brown hens (no names yet) who will hopefully have a wonderful life wondering the garden and turning it all into eggs :)

21.01.2022 Who wants a Ninety Seven year old WA Heirloom Tomato? We are back at the Kalamunda Farmers Market this weekend with a few new variety's including Nonno's Italian Pear and 97 year old WA Heirloom! This Tomato is from Mike Tedesco of WA, whose grandfather brought it from San Giorgio, Calabria in 1924!... Mike's family has been growing it ever since (nearly 100 years!) and it is known as Nonno's (Grandfather's) Italian Pear. This is a tall variety that grows best with two or three laterals. The fruit is dark pink when ripe with firm flesh that is excellent for slicing, passata and drying. Highly recommended. Approx 10 kg per plant

21.01.2022 We are gearing up for the first Kalamunda Garden Festival since old mate ate a bat and we cannot wait!

18.01.2022 That's not a Beetroot, THIS is a Beetroot! Check out this 4kg Chioggia Beetroot we grew in the Heirloom Valley Garden! This is the biggest one we have ever grown, it's actually a few that have fused together but we are still pretty chuffed with ourselves

18.01.2022 Today, for the first time, we picked some our produce which will go to market tomorrow, Slim Jim Eggplants, so pretty almost sad to see them go :) and Chillis, an old Turkish Heirloom Corbaci Pepper which is mild medium heat, some Thai Birdseye and just a few hot Orange Habanero's and some Yellow Habanero Jelly Beans which are packed with a fruity twist, a bit like lemon and pineapple cross. The Beetroot, Radish and Rainbow Chard will be picked in the morning so it is as fres...h as possible. We only have a small amount of produce just to dip our foot in the water so come early to avoid disappointment. We will also have a good range of seedlings available Come down the market is located on the corner of Recreation Road and Canning Road, Kalamunda, in the Performing Arts Car park at next to Kostera Oval from 8 am till 12 Midday, it's going to be a beautiful day so come down and say hi.
