15.01.2022 Tasman Waratah - Tasman Waratah was completed in June 2019 in time for the Art on Show Exhibition at the Mackay Regional Show. It is based on a photograph taken during the 3 Capes Walk on the Tasman Peninsula in November 2017. The waratahs were in bloom throughout Southern Tasmania, however the flowers on the peninsula had a particularly deep pink colour.

15.01.2022 My mum’s treadle sewing machine, ‘Fliver’ has been serviced and is ready and raring to go! Have begun sewing the quilt squares into rows. Only one more row to do then the rows will be sewn together. Fliver is amazing! Such a delight to sew with, so smooth and consistent. Brought back so many memories of when I learn to sew on her, but when she was electric. Keep thinking of mum... and dad as I sew!

13.01.2022 Hand-stitched quilt top. Started this quilt many years ago when I needed some hand sewing to do while I chatted with the lovely ladies at Bucasia Beach Quilters. It has waited in the cupboard to be pieced it together. Well, last week was the time. My mothers 1938 Singer treadle sewing machine has just been serviced, so I plan to put it together with it. I learnt to sew on that machine when it was electric. Dad converted it back to a treadle when he retired. My mum loved that machine. She even had a name for it, Fliver. Dont ask me why!
