24.01.2022 Another thread painting completed. Has taken me a long time due to being incapacitated with a sore back, but I am really pleased with the result. I have called this one "Heading to the Coast". Enjoy!

23.01.2022 Continuing on from my last post.............. The houses have been tizzied up and the landscaping complete. Next step is to bring life into the ocean and beach. I usually follow the same process as for the houses, so each piece is done individually and then sewn onto the main piece.

22.01.2022 Have had quite a productive few weeks. A few days I did nothing, couldn't be bothered! Now I can't stop. Have so many ideas flitting around in my head! Hope you enjoy two of my completed pieces. The blue wrens are needle felted, with some applique and machine stitching; and the other is applique, wool fibres and stitching.

20.01.2022 Number 4 on my list of artworks to complete seems to be taking forever!!!! I still haven't finished but I feel I am making progress. Still a long way to go though - stitching into the ocean now that I have put on the final layer of fibres; sewing shadows for the figures and pebbles; and sewing into the hills and sky. I think that's all??!! Oh Yeah - another pelican.

20.01.2022 Textiles completed and now in the Riverfront Gallery Denmark.

19.01.2022 With all that's going on around the world today it is hard to keep motivated but I did manage to finish this textile piece. Staying busy whilst in isolation is the key to staying sane! I hope everyone is keeping well, following the rules and doing what they can to stay safe. Take good care of each other. Sending love and positive vibes to all.

17.01.2022 This one I completed last night. It is worked from a photo I took of a Magnolia plant at my daughter's house. Bit different to what I usually do but nevertheless still an enjoyable process.

15.01.2022 Check out my entry for the Great Southern Art Awards at the Vancouver Arts Centre. Open until 1st June. Mon -Fri 9am to 4pm and Sat 10am to 3pm

15.01.2022 Work completed. I am very happy with this.

15.01.2022 Rather than just posting a photo of my completed work I thought I would share with you the stages I go through to achieve that completed work. Bear in mind that things are added/deleted as I go through the process. The process is what really excites me.

14.01.2022 Decided to do a textile version of one of my old oil paintings from a few years ago.

13.01.2022 Work in progress. Loving the process.

11.01.2022 After copious meters of silk, a few hundred bobbin changes and meters and meters of thread, not to mention the time it has taken, I have finally finished!!!!! It has been a marathon effort! The artwork measures about 65 x 45 cm unframed. I am really excited to take it to Nick at Haese's Picture Framing to get framed. Not sure what I will name it yet!

10.01.2022 With Christmas over and now back into the 'swing of things' I am able to devote more time to what I love doing most. I have a number of projects on the go. I'll post these as I finish them. This one I have done just for fun, playing with different techniques and fibres and going much smaller than usual. However I am really pleased with the results. I must remember to keep notes of all my experiments and happy mistakes!!!!

09.01.2022 I'm determined to complete all my 'works in progress' before I start a new one. This one is number three out of seven. Only four to go !!!!!!!!!

08.01.2022 What a great feeling when you finally finish a piece of work after many, many hours and you're really happy with it! Off to my trusty framer Nick, tomorrow.

07.01.2022 Work in progress! Needle felting

06.01.2022 A few weeks ago I attended a felting workshop with the amazing Kaye Louwen. We all completed a piece of wet felting and also a scarf. It was so much fun. I used my felting piece as a background and ended up with the this....Enjoy. It is destined for the Riverfront Gallery once it has been framed.

06.01.2022 So much for not starting anything new until I complete all works in progress!! Famous last words! At least I got to number 4 out of 7!! These are two new ones, ...completed and at the framers. Both are needle felted with some free motion machine stitching on the owl one. Backgrounds on both are hand dyed. Enjoy! See more

05.01.2022 Sorry for lack of posts! Here are some of my latest. Some are free motion machine stitched, others are needle felted and some a bit of both. Any info on these and other paintings on my page please pm me. ENJOY!

04.01.2022 Sorry posts have been few and far between. I have been very busy with my other passion - my Grandchildren I have been playing with new techniques which I am thoroughly enjoying. This one I used pre-felted material for the background, lots of twisted fibres for the tree trunks in the foreground and silk worm stripping for the rocks, with free motion machine stitching to finish off the piece. Lots and lots of fun!!! I have called this "Desert Moon". Enjoy.

03.01.2022 Don't you just love spring? It's not only the welcomed sunny days but the beautiful colours provided for our enjoyment by Mother Nature. Something to really marvel at and appreciate This is my tribute to spring. Enjoy!
