20.01.2022 Earlier this week I received a phone call from Laura Cullen, a Gold Coast School teacher. She had heard about the Club Historian Florence Drury who celebrated her 100th birthday in March just a few days before lockdown. Laura will be interviewing Florence tomorrow for a project she is working on. Here is a message from Laura. Lynne Williams Secretary ... Hello everyone My name is Laura Cullen and I am a teacher at a local Gold Coast school. Next week, I will be presenting to our teaching staff, as part of our professional development days, a short video that captures the stories of older Australians who have memories of their teachers to illustrate the longevity of impact that teachers can have and the importance of the work that they do. If you have a story of a teacher from your school days and would be willing to chat with me for the film I would be so grateful to hear from you. 17.01.2022 On the 13th March following the AGM we were fortunate to be able to celebrate the 100th birthday of our Charter Member Florence Drury. It was a morning full of surprises, Florence had no idea that her family would be there. Just in time before everything shut down. Happy 100th birthday Florence.

14.01.2022 On Friday 12th February 46 members and 5 guests gathered at the Arundel Tavern for our first meeting since March. We will be back at the Helensvale Seniors Club, Discovery Drive, Helensvale for our AGM on 12th March. It was a happy occasion catching up with everyone, and many members staying back for lunch.

13.01.2022 This time last year many of our members went on a day trip to Toowoomba, the flowers were amazing, so much work had gone into the displays. The couple who won overall had the most beautiful garden, they had started from nothing, both in their eighties, and they work in the garden all day every day. Their win was so well deserved.

12.01.2022 A message from President Kay Watts : Thank you for visiting our new Facebook page. Our Club was founded in 1993 and has a Membership of both men and women. Probus is about fun, friendship and fellowship in retirement and semi-retirement and we have that with our wide range of activities to suit all lifestyles, active and not-so-active. We have local meetings with interesting guest speakers and a variety of social outings to suit everyone. Visitors are always welcome!

05.01.2022 President Kay Watts visited Althea Foster for her 80th birthday, presenting her with flowers and our good wishes, as well as enjoying coffee and a chat.
