22.01.2022 Swimming Gold Coast are working towards getting our swimmers back in the water as soon as it is safe. Our technical officials are ready. In the meantime pleas...e mark these dates in your diaries: SGC AGM - 10th August 2020 How can you help our region. Our notice calling for nominations is out now. Our committee stands down for reappointment and not all of our committee are coming back in roles on the committee. Are you keen to come on board to our Committee or Sub-Committee? Reach out we would love to hear from you. 2020 SGC Welcome Back to Swimming Short Course Invitational - 5th and 6th September 2020 - pending being able to source a pool suitable to meet COVID restrictions. We are working to get this happening but please be patient these things take lots of time to get happening. Stage 3 has just recently come into effect and there is a lot to do to get this to happen if we can. Parent spectators will not be permitted at this event due to our restricted resources for our event. We will be asking parents to help my nominating for a position as a volunteer and this will be limited. Can you assist as a technical official, timekeeper, lane chief, technical official. Without a role you will not be able to attend as a parent. Our goal is to get our swimmers back in the water to have fun racing again and ensuring we meet all the COVID policies set by Qld Health. As always talk to your swimmers coach to see if they feel your swimmer is ready to participate in this event. We want our swimmers to have fun with this event and get back to racing with their friends. Parents we need your help to help run our region so if you can help please reach out to be involved. How can you help your region get back to swimming?

22.01.2022 URGENT!!! We are still urgently chasing someone with a towbar, trailer, 4WD, van or ute that can take the tents to Southport tomorrow. We are able to set up from 12pm till 5.30pm but have also been allocated and area with 3 other large clubs who will claim their spots early. The preference is to get them there earlier rather than later. There is no other undercover area for our swimmers.

20.01.2022 Life at the Pool is feeling almost back to normal - which is fantastic for our swimmers BUT we still need to be COVIDSafe to keep it that way. Swimmers and Families Please remember : - All Swimmers & Spectators must check-in and swipe membership card or give their name to reception on entry to the pool complex - If your sick stay at home - we do not want other swimmers to get sick or risk a closedown. - If anyone in the household is tested for Coronaviris everyone should st...ay at home till results are known and cleared - Keep the distance - outside of the water Coaches, spectators and swimmers need to keep their distance and observe social distancing of 1.5 meters - Practice good hygiene - wash hands regularly and thoroughly See more

20.01.2022 Friday Night entries are available online now at https://swimcentral.swimming.org.au/ This week is at Helensvale Aquatic Centre Friday 20th November 2020. For those not currently members, manual entries will be taken at the desk up until 5.45pm. No entries will be taken after this time to allow racing to start at 6pm. Best to do online entries on Thursday as sometimes the system will not accept entries on the same day as the competition.

19.01.2022 Hi everyone, I'm Deanne Singh and I am one of the Helensvale Team Managers for the GC Meet along with Codi Dodd and Helen Erwin. I understand everyone's disappointment in not being able to watch the GC swim meet this weekend. Please be assured that we will do everything we can to ensure everyone is happy, healthy and will get to their race on time. If anyone would like to contact me on the weekend, please do so by sms 0414662619 or email [email protected] One of us will b...e at the gate entry to welcome swimmers between 6.30am and 8.15am both days. Older swimmers may make their own way to the 25m pool (near the cafe). Please look for the Helensvale Tents. Please arrive early and make time for sign in procedures, as this will be time consuming. If their is any medical information that we need to know, please email or sms me asap. Swimmers will need a camp chair for comfort as their is no seating, food and snacks, water and powerade. The Cafe will be open for takeaway meals only. All swimmers are to sit 1.5m away from each other. For new swimmers that are wearing racesuits- do not wear underwear or any swimmers underneath. You will be disqualified. The older swimmers will help getting racesuits on if needed. If not wearing a racesuit, do not wear anything underneath your togs and for the girls - No tiebacks or bikinis for racing as you will be disqualified. Must be a 1 peice. Bikinis and tiebacks are ok for warm-up only if needed. It is always handy to have a spare swimsuit, goggles and cap if you have them. You never know if a break is about to happen. If your child is racing later in the day and are arriving after 8.15am, feel free to message me to meet at the gates and we can drop off swimmers to the gates for collection. I may not answer the phone due to the loud noise coming from the cheering, but will frequently check my phone. If you dont have the Meet Mobile App, you can download it from the App store or Google play and see results for races. Please note, this is not always on time and can be delayed, but atleast you can see the times the kids are racing. Their will be lots of familiar faces around with Shelley Reid as one of the officials and Jo Tilley, Leigh Potts, Carissa Inglis and Belinda Hayes on Timekeeping. I will have hsc caps on me for any new competetive members that haven't received one yet. If you are still on a covid membership, you will need to pay $15 for a cap or register as a competetive member before the meet. If anyone wants any more info, please don't hesitate to contact myself. 03.01.2022 Membership renewals are now open for the 20-21 season. Current membership will expire 30 September (Covid temporary memberships will expire on 10 September). Fees are unchanged from last season ($145 for 9yrs and over including a cap, $65 for 8yrs and under no cap included). You will be sent automated reminders in September. If you have a FairPlay/Get Started Voucher you need to arrange to submit prior to renewing, email Jo at [email protected].
