23.01.2022 Here’s a little time lapse video I posted over on my Instagram account where I’m pretty careful about the image I portray. IG’s square format showed only the top half of the video, not telling the full story... yes, happily I’m wearing large felted slippers in the studio
21.01.2022 New linocut! Great friends are hard to find ~ about the assumed avian friendships between currawongs, magpies and three types of Australian raven. This is one of the linocut illustrations as a colour edition from the Bird Speak book I made with Wally Marek earlier this year on the cusp of lockdowns.... A limited edition of 20 signed and numbered handmade prints. Take a closer look in my shop, you’ll find the shop button at the top of my page.
19.01.2022 Want to shop the best of regional Victoria’s produce all in one place? My boxed sets of cards along with beer, wine, chocolate, cheese and other great produce from around our state can be found on the Victorian Country Market website with free delivery to your door statewide!! My own webshop is still open with prints & cards; free postage Aus wide, but sorry no cheese
18.01.2022 I've never held an exhibition at the physio, but 2020 has been a year for firsts. I am so very pleased to have work on the walls at Through Life Physiotherapy in Warragul. Thanks to the lovely staff and Baw Baw Arts Alliance for arranging this exhibition of linocuts and works on paper. The show, called 'Birdlife' will be on display until the end of November, and includes linocut cards and Bird Speak books, from which the works are drawn. Three of the artworks on display are having their debut showing, since there have not been any opportunities to hang work since March due to covid-19 restrictions. Moving these large framed works on paper out of my tiny studio and on to the walls of this busy practice has been brilliant.
18.01.2022 Back in print!Just Pretend was made in 2009 when masks were something bandits wore. 11 years on and masks are trending enough to compel me finish the colour edition of 10. Please don’t ask why it took me so long. There is also a black and white edition of 5. You’ll find them in my webshop if you are looking for a medium sized artwork celebrating wild women or the art of dressing up ~ whatever takes your fancy
17.01.2022 On my walks to the post office to mail orders I observe the changes in the plants and the light heralding the coming of Spring. With this unfortunately comes a load of pollen, and allergies, but maybe wearing a mask will help. (And if your nose is dripping no one will know).
16.01.2022 Just another day at the office. Me at Warragul Arts Market yesterday. Prue Grant
16.01.2022 Found this in my box of mini signs for open studio events. I used to ask visitors to write their email address on a slip of paper and drop it into whatever this sign was tied to - once it was an old red fire extinguisher . . . Lately I’m inviting people to sign up via my website. Please consider subscribing if you’d like to be informed of exhibitions, new prints and cards, linocut workshops and other events like the festivals and markets I attend as a stallholder. The future of some of these things is uncertain, however it’s easy to join up and if you get sick of the emails or want to change your details it’s no biggie I’ve posted the link in comments below. Failing that just leave me your email in a DM
16.01.2022 Warragul Arts Market is tomorrowSaturday 21st9-1. I’m packing the car today with tent, trestles, signage which has all been packed away since February. This market will have a covid safe set up ~ you’ll find my stall under the same shady tree close to the farmers market. Arrive early to avoid the crowds. I’ll have calendars, cards, books, prints. For locals: you are welcome to order online and pick up at the market.
16.01.2022 Tiny black and white linocut new in the shop. One of my square design Tasmanian series depicting heathland above the tree line.
14.01.2022 Thank you for your recent comments. I love hearing what the work means to you. I’ve been a bushwalker all my life. Over the last couple of years I’ve been exhibiting work about National Parks and other protected places I visit. For many of us our connections with landscape and wild bush contribute to wellbeing. This has never seemed more apparent than during lockdowns. As this country's population grows, looking after these special places and the creatures living in these habitats seems more important than ever.
13.01.2022 Abundance: an early linocut print, made in my mid 20s before I knew the first thing about editions. A multiblock linocut, hand coloured, this popular print has been produced in various colours . I used it as a teaching and demonstration example for years. Now it's a card too and you can find it in my shop.
13.01.2022 The incredibly lovely folk at Gippslandia have my linocut sharing the latest edition cover with the work of Lauren Murphy Photography. It IS good news.
12.01.2022 I’ve been featured in Gippslandia! Go and get yourself the latest edition. You can find it in cafes around Gippsland.
11.01.2022 I’ve been feeling a bit ‘blah’ but didn’t think I was depressed. To-do lists aren’t working very well and I can’t regain the surge of energy I had after the first lockdown. Other friends and colleagues have been saying much the same. This morning I read this article which is immensely enlightening. Thanks to Margie, my fellow Creative Recovery Artist facilitator, for finding this: Long read, 13mins so maybe save it for morning tea time or your next break.
08.01.2022 New linocuts: putting prints in order, signing and editioning with a favourite soft 2B pencil
07.01.2022 Huge thanks to our local rag Warragul Drouin Gazette for the generous article and photo in today’s paper. Both Wally and I especially wish to thank Emma and Nick for the great article on our book Bird Speak. Here’s the link if you’d like to take a look at the book.
07.01.2022 I’m hosting a free (online)lino carving workshop for 12-25s. Limited spaces- sign up viaBaw Baw Shire Council

07.01.2022 New card in the shop - given the year we‘ve (almost) had it makes an uplifting and topical christmas card - printed in regional Victoria on 100% post consumer recycled paper... This is the linocut image I’ve chosen for the cover my 2021 calendar too. You can browse both over in my shoplink in bio ~ or pop in to the studio for a real actual visit call 0408527943 to arrange.
07.01.2022 Found my groove printing in the studio today making progress on the Bird Speak limited editions - this one celebrates imagined avian friendships between currawongs, ravens & magpies
06.01.2022 Thanks to the band of young creative carvers (and their mums and one dad)who joined me online for the Youth lino carving workshop this afternoon. Pictured is the big pile of carved blocks I showed as examples, and my own (unfinished) freestyle carving on the large block. Much gratitude to Baw Baw Shire Council for hosting the Youth Week workshops.
03.01.2022 It has been wonderful working with this group to celebrate local biodiversity. I know you are about to ask so, if you would like to have your very own A2 poster they are FREE from the Baw Baw Shire Council service centres. You can make a donation to Friends of Drouin's Trees if you wish, which will help with ongoing projects. Now we have that out of the way, read on if you want to know a little more. ... The poster features 50 local species. Was it hard to choose just 50? YES, you can be sure of that, but in end decisions were based on things like having a balance of species, whether a species is threatened, iconic and topical to this area, having a suitable image available, and design costings. Each species is named so you can use this poster as an educational tool. Creating this poster took 9 months and was a team effort. I built the image in Photoshop using the brilliant images (and knowledge) of local photographer Peter Ware and Greg Hollis, coordinator of Environment and Resource Recovery. The amazing Judy Farmer also supplied images and coordinated all stakeholders with project management - a huge thank you - well done team!!
02.01.2022 New linocut in the shop When young friends of mine were wed during lockdown I felt such a surge of hope and joy for the future. Heartfelt best wishes to all who have tied the knot during this pandemic
