25.01.2022 This month we have our trusty B206BII VH-BIN in the shed for a 100/300hr inspection in preperation for her busy season in the Kimberley for our good friends of The Great Escape Charter Company. During this time we are inspecting and treating issues before they arise in aid of having a carefree tour abroad. Here we have photos of the engine during the the turbine change, various avioincs mods and NDT inspections of the M/R driveshaft and outer combustion chamber of the engine. We hope to have BIN back in the air in the next 2 weeks which will be just in time for the start of the busy season. If you are in Broome and the surrounding areas give the guys at The Great Escape a call or try https://www.greatescape.net.au/ to book your tour now and escape the upcoming southern winter season!

24.01.2022 Feels like Christmas today! Took delivery of a 206 Long Ranger. Can't wait to see what it'll look like in a few weeks time!!

23.01.2022 Finally we say farewell to our recent and very impressive rebuild project VH-LRW. I can confirm that she has since retired from the harsh work horse environment of the Pilbara where she used to reside and has now taken up residency in Melbourne Victoria under the sguise of her new owners. To say the new owners are thrilled with their recent aquistion is somehwat of an understatement and they are very happy with their new aircraft! Happy and safe travels to VH-LRW and we wish the new owners all the very best!

22.01.2022 Yes even our own fleet aircaft need some love and attention every now and then! Our flight school workhorse R22 VH-NZO is in for a 2200Hr inspection with new fuel cells, new interior and fresh paint to name a few items getting an upgrade! Scott and Jethro are ploughing through the rebuild and the machine is looking great, and we cant wait to see it flying in the next few weeks!

21.01.2022 A great testimony for the Van Horn blades, as the Australian distributor give us a call to place an order for a set. Trade in options for your metal blades available.

21.01.2022 QA, flight school and engineering depts lunching together!

21.01.2022 A fantastic aircraft now available- Get in touch to find out more!

21.01.2022 Heliwest as the Australian Distributor for Van Horn is excited to announce the imminent release of the new Main Rotor Blades. Contact us to get more information or place to an order at [email protected] The VHA 206B Version 2 main rotor blades use the same carbon fiber materials and construction methods as our initial 206B main rotor blades, which received FAA STC/PMA in 2016, and 206B/L/OH-58 tail rotor blades, which have been available as an STC/PMA aftermarket com...ponent since 2009. All of these blades feature corrosion-resistant carbon fiber skin and spars, an efficient NASA-designed laminar-flow airfoil, tapered tip, and leading edge abrasion strips. The main design difference between the initial 206B main rotor blade (Part Number 20631000-101) and Version 2 (P/N 20631000-501) is the carbon fiber ply count and orientation. Ply adjustment along with changes to the mass distribution provides a softer ride (similar to our 206L main rotor blade). The service life of the 206B Version 2 main rotor blade will be set at 10,000 hourstwice the life of the OEM bladewith no required blade overhauls. The VHA blades use the identical installation configuration as the OEM blades, allowing direct replacement without hub modification. VHA 206 main rotor blades are now flying in more than a dozen countries on four continents. Some customers are reporting overall aircraft speed increases of 3-5 kts using the VHA main and tail rotor blades on LongRangers and JetRangers.

19.01.2022 Hi All! After a few months away we can finally confirm that our AS350FX2 VH-JVC has arrived and is operating superbly in the icy temps of Antartica. It was a massive effort by all the team to get the machine prepared for the first trip to the ice for Heliwest with a massive effort from our on site engineer Kody Petterson who is also getting used to the chilly conditions! For JVC to go from the +45C of Newman WA to the chilly -20C is a great testament to Kodys knowledge of the aircraft and his enthusiastic approach to an amazing experience for both man and machine is proving its worth with the aircraft operating superbly! We cant wait to have both Kody and JVC back on aussie soil in March 2018!

19.01.2022 Recently we imported from the US another AS350 to our fleet. Previously used as an EMS machine in the states this AS350B2 previously known as N911NF now sports the new Australian registration of VH-OCS! The crew have been extremely busy the past three weeks carrying out various scheduled maintenance and modifications to this AS350B2 specifically removing the redundant EMS kit (145Kg worth!!), installing new audio system and role radios and installing an FDC filter kit to keep... those nasties out of the engine! Being only in the shed for a small amnount of time didnt give us much of a chance for too many photos but the ones shown here hopfully give an insight into the amount of work which was carried out in such a small amount of time! Agin many thanks to erin and the crew at Walsh Avioincs for their assistance with the massive electrical and radio work required to bring this machine to the very high standard which it proudly sports now. We cant wait to see her airborne in the next couple of days.....we will keep you posted! See more

19.01.2022 Another day, another project!!! Last month we recently imported an AS350B2 from Laos which suffered a minor hard landing after an engine failure. Our engineering team have been hard at work disassembling, inspecting and repairing items with the focus in the near future have the aircraft back in the air! As you can see the work required for such a project takes a lot of time, care and attention to detail to make sure that the aircraft is 110% safe and reliable when we push it out the door and release it to service. We are very proud of the high level of work and professionalism by our crew to turn products such as these into glorious flying machines! Stay tuned in the next couple of months as to the progress of this beauty!

13.01.2022 After a long few months and plenty of man hours we can finally share the positive signs of our AS350SD2 VH-LRW project nearing completion. The boys have done an oustanding job of rebuilding the aircraft from the ground up from the bare shell it once was to now prepping for its first test flight next week since 2015! Fantastic efforts from Izzy, Bridgey, Jake, Scott and the rest of the crew for producing such a high quality product that we have come to expect from the Heliwest Services manitenance crew. The new owners of LRW are blown away by the quality of the end result and cant wait to take her away as their new pride and joy in a little under 2 weeks. Well done boys great effort!!! And yes......the bare shell in the photos is indeed the same aircraft!

11.01.2022 There must be something in the water as the AS350s seem to be multiplying! Our newest project is an AS350B3 which although only just completing the fourth week of a 12 year inspection, is coming along really well as you can tell from the photos. The boys have been feverishly ploughing through the inspections and modifying the avioincs to give this bird a fresh lease of life. A lot can happen in a week as most of these photos will show, but in the coming weeks she will start to come together really quickly. Stay tuned for the latest B3 project updates!

10.01.2022 Following its recent refurbishment we are proud to show the new and improved VH-XRX in her custom livery as the dedicated Western Power aircraft! 02.01.2022 So This months field trip took Kody and Frank back to Derby to service KAS Helicopters AS350B2 again. This field trip entailed an engine removal for the Module 1 and Module 4 change on site. A long few days saw the boys tear down and engine, build it back up again in a day, carry out a scheduled servicing as well as knock over a few little minor niggles on the aircraft including rectifiying the aircon......which for this time of year is an absolute must for those 40+C days and sweltering humidity! A great effort again from the Heliwest Services crew for their dedication to deliver to our respected clients! Thanks again to the KAS boys, Adrian, Dave, Frenchy and Roger for their assistance in helping achieve another great result!

The boys under the guide of their coordinator Kody have produced a sensational looking and performing aircraft just ready for its new owner! The striking blue and black is an awesome sight when matched with the Lexus Pearl striping on the fuselage, with the aircraft really turning heads when it first took to Aussie skies yesterday! Many thanks again to all the boys who put in the hard yards and went the extra mile to achieve such a great result. Another special mention to Dan, Rick and the boys at Spraytek Refinishing for their continued support. Bring on #2!!!!
