St. Andrew's Grammar 30th Annive...rsary Celebrations Dear Parents & Guardians, This year, St. Andrews Grammar will be celebrating 30 years. To mark this special occasion, we will be holding a 30th Anniversary celebration for both our School and local community and unveiling a commemorative plaque. On the night, our Parents and Friends Association will also be formally thanking our School Community for their strong support and encouragement during the COVID-19 Pandemic and we would like to welcome all of our families to join us for this momentous occasion. 23.01.2022 Important Announcement Regarding Phase 3 COVID-19 Regulations Dear friends, It is with great joy that we celebrate the announcement today by the WA Government t...hat as of Saturday 6 June, 100 people will be permitted to attend Church services. There are a number of important key points below regarding this announcement. Please read carefully and contact Fr Terry if you have any questions. Upcoming Services for Attendance by 20 Parishioners The following services will be held this week upcoming and can still only be attended by 20 parishioners. If you would like to attend one of these services, please contact Fr Terry by phone or email. Monday 1 June 8.00 - 10.30 am (Matins and Divine Liturgy) 11 Spots Left Wednesday 3 June 6.00 - 7.30 pm (English Divine Liturgy) 18 Spots Left Friday 5 June 6.00 - 7.30 pm (Vespers Service for the Saturday of Souls) - 18 Spots Left The faithful can bring along to this service the names of their family members who have passed away for commemoration as well as Kolivo (boiled wheat) as a memorial service will be conducted during this service. Saturday of Souls Saturday 6 June The original plan was to hold two services on this day. Now, due to the fact that 100 parishioners can attend this service, only ONE service will be held from 7.30 10.30 am. All parishioners who have already booked into to attend Church on this day will be given priority and a guaranteed place in the Church. Anyone else wishing to attend can simply come on the day. However, entrance into the Church will only be allowed if the 100 person quoted has not yet been reached. Those who have already put their name down and booked in for a Sunday service can of course attend at any time as their name is down on the list you dont need to be their right from the very beginning. A vespers service with 20 people will still be held on the Friday evening 5 June at 6.00 7.30 pm. There are still 18 spots left for this service. Pentecost - Sunday 7 June (Matins and Hierarchical Divine Liturgy presided over by His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyaneon) Those wishing to attend Church on a Sunday should still book in with Fr Terry in advance. This is to avoid people being turned away at the door. Those who have already been booked in for this service are already guaranteed a spot in the Church. If you have not booked to attend a Sunday service and you arrive at the Church, you will be allowed to enter as long as the 100 person quota has not been reached. Priority will of course be first given to those people who have already pre-booked. Those who have already put their name down and booked in for a Sunday service can of course attend at any time as their name is down on the list you dont need to be their right from the very beginning. Sacraments Attendance for all funerals, baptisms, weddings etc will now be 100 people within the Church as per the WA Government Phase 3 guidelines. Memorial Services Attendance preference will be given to those families wishing to conduct memorial services on a Sunday service. Families wishing to conduct a memorial service should contact Fr Terry to arrange a date and numbers. Mid-Week Services (Monday Saturday) We will not be taking bookings to attend mid-week services. There will be a Church representative at the door to the Church who will be counting and only the first 100 people to arrive will be permitted to enter the Church. Health, Hygiene and Social Distancing The following MUST be adhered to, as per WA Government guidelines and regulations: If you are feeling unwell for any reason, please DO NOT come to the Church If you are in a significant at risk health category, then the medical advice is still to stay at home during this period. Upon entering the Church, parishioners must sanitise their hands The Church is cleaned and sanitised after every service Parishioners must maintain social distancing of 1.5 m inside the Church (or 1 person for every 2m2) Parishioners from the same household can of course sit together. Sunday School Every week, we will continue to post a VIRTUAL SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON on our Church Facebook page. This is a lesson designed for parents and children to go through and learn together at home. Sunday School lessons in person on a Sunday for Children of all ages will re-commence on Sunday the 14th of June. 10.01.2022 ‘Giving a Smile to a Child’ The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, Archdiocesan District of Perth, is organising, through the Holy Monastery of St John, a fundraiser for the purpose of providing monetary assistance to children in need this Christmas. Similar to last year’s fundraiser, all cash donations will be given to the Refugee Clinic of the Perth Children’s Hospital. The Clinic will purchase certain essential items according to the hospital's requirements and distr...ibute to the disadvantaged children in hospital that they care for. These children often arrive in Perth with no possessions, clothes or shoes and in a very poor psychological condition. Please show your generosity to assist these children in need. Cash donations will benefit the Refugee Clinic of the Perth Children’s Hospital. 02.01.2022 The Consulate of Greece in Perth organised a Wreath Laying Ceremony at Kings Park State War Memorial on Sunday 25 October to commemorate the National Day of 28 ...October 1940, the "OXI" Day. The Wreath Laying was preceded by a Doxology at the Church of Sts Constantine and Helene's. The Ceremony opened with a blessing by the Reverend Fathers, presided by His Grace Bishop Elpidios Kyaneon, followed by performances by the students of St Andrews Grammar and the Immaculate Heart College. Australian and Greek dignitaries paid their tribute by laying their wreaths and the ceremony was concluded with short speeches by the Consul of Greece in Perth , Ms Georgia Karasiotou, Mr Simon Millman MLA, Representing the Premier of WA and Mr Peter Katsambanis MLA, representing the Leader of the Opposition. It is especially during challenging times, like the one humanity is going through at the moment, that we become more appreciative of acts of selflessness, sacrifice and heroism. We are grateful of the struggles of our forefathers in defending the values of freedom, democracy and human dignity. 01.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING THE REOPENING OF CHURCHES IN WA Dear friends, Please read the attached message from His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyaneon (Archi...episcopal Vicar of Perth). As of Monday the 18th of May, we will be conducting services with 20 parishioners in the Church (this excludes the clergy, chanters and helpers). We are adding a number of additional services at the Church of Sts Constantine and Helene to allow more opportunity for the faithful to attend Church. Please contact ONLY Fr Terry via phone or email to nominate THREE (3) preferences for services that you or a family member would like to attend. I will then respond to you and confirm attendance at ONE (1) of these three services, depending on the spots available. As of the time of sending this email, I will work on a "first in, first preference" basis.
