17.01.2022 10 days to go until our AGM! Hear from our Vice-President Despina about her role this year I’ve had such a rewarding 2019 being in the UTS Hellenic committee as Vice President. I have met some great members through BBQs on campus, bouzoukia at Steki, our annual Melbourne trip and had the privilege of attending and contributing to CUGA events. As Vice President I have:... - Assisted the President and executives with events, meetings and cultural days - Being vocal and present at all commitee meetings - Oversee the society and assist wherever necessary - Participate in CUGA meetings Being involved in such an active role has introduced me to a wider group of likeminded people while also keeping the rich Hellenic culture alive. If you are considering running for a position come join us on the 4th of December

13.01.2022 ONLY 5 DAYS TO GO UNTIL OUR AGM! One of our many positions available for next year is Cultural Officer Hear from our current Cultural Officer Nick about his role this year. As UTS Hellenics Cultural Officer, you will start to enrich yourself with Greek culture as you go back to your roots. You are responsible for attending cultural events as the club’s representative. These events are very enjoyable and make for a great learning experience. You are also tasked with informing members about cultural events such as religious celebrations, remembrance days and name days. The position of Cultural Officer is a very rewarding experience and I encourage other students to try it for themselves.

08.01.2022 With the AGM in exactly a week, learn more about the roles on offer! Are you thinking of running for Treasurer 2020? Hear from our current Treasurer Steph about her role this year Acting as treasurer for UTS Hellenic has been a very rewarding experience. I have been involved in the committee for three years now, but this year I was given the opportunity to take on more responsibly and participate in the decision-making processes for events. I have enjoyed my time as treasu...rer thoroughly and would recommend being involved in UTS Hellenic to anyone who loves meeting new people and collaborating with others who share the same interests and values. Bring treasurer involves keeping track of the society’s revenue and expenses and managing all transactions that flow from in and out of our account.

04.01.2022 The AGM is only days away!! Hear from our current Events Coordinator about her role this year Being UTS Hellenic’s Events coordinator this year has been an amazing experience. Coming from being a first year rep and cultural officer last year, it was the perfect transition to step up and have some more responsibility within the committee. Being events coordinator involved brainstorming and organising the events that UTS Hellenic hosted this year, with the assistance of o...ther members of the committee. It involved working closely to the executive and ensuring that all events ran as smoothly as possible. As a society, we hosted our first annual Steki Taverna Night, and put on another amazing Melbourne trip for the 7th year in a row. We also hosted a series of bbq’s and food days around uni. If you have any interest in organising events, and want to be more involved within UTS Hellenic, be sure to come to our AGM on Wednesday See more
04.01.2022 Are you wanting to or thinking about running for a position at our upcoming AGM? Here’s a message from our President James about his role: Being President of UTS Hellenic has been one of the most significant and memorable experiences of my uni life.... It’s more than just a title. You’re a driving force behind the committee and wider society. As President, I was entrusted by the committee to lead and be the face of one of the best group of young Hellenes. My primary roles involved: - Chairing committee meetings - Delegating tasks to the respective executive members - Consistent liaison with Activate UTS - Representing the society at a CUGA level - Overseeing various facets and activities of the society But in my opinion, the chief job of President is to personify the love for our beautiful culture and to always include all persons in any one of our several events. Hope to see many of our members at the AGM on the 4th December
03.01.2022 2 Days until our AGM! Hear from our Social Media Officer Mariana about her role this year! Being elected the Social Media Office for 2019 has been such a rewarding and fun experience for me these last 12 months. As Social Media Officer, I have been primarily in charge of running the social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook and the UTS Hellenic Website) and I’ve also had the opportunity on a few occasions to represent the society at Greek community events such as the Com...memoration of the Battle of Crete and the Commemoration of the Athens Polytechnic Uprising. I have been a part of the UTS Hellenic Society since I started studying at UTS in 2017. I began as just a member, however for my final year of studies, I wanted to become more involved in the committee. I was fortunate enough to be elected for Social Media Officer and as a marketing student I really enjoyed creating content for the society. Being a part of this society has allowed me to meet likeminded and passionate students who are as enthusiastic about Greek culture as I am. I have been able to make many new friends during my time on the Hellenic Society. Being a part of the committee has definitely been the highlight of my studies! For someone who is looking to run for a fun, creative and exciting position, Social Media Officer is definitely for you! Hope to see you at the AGM on Wednesday
02.01.2022 Our very own cultural officer Nicholas Haikalis is a wellbeing representative for Activate UTS! Here’s some info about him and what he does: Hi!
