23.01.2022 The skeleton in me wishes the skeleton in you a happy Friday!

20.01.2022 Mondays can be hard; Make the next one easier by booking a treatment for yourself

19.01.2022 Bowen Therapy supports the nervous and immune systems, so may help people with chronic illness manage pain levels associated with it. If you want to support someone you know, a good start is knowing what not to say. . .

17.01.2022 It's week two of a client free clinic here at H.G.B How is everyone? We hope you're doing ok. It's a weird and unique time we find ourselves in isn't it? So what next? We'll still be here on FB sharing info on health and mental wellness, as well as random stuff that's funny, fun or interesting. If you have something you want to see here, let us know! If you want info about covid-19, please check in with your reputable source of choice, and we'll be here with a reprieve when you need it. Bowen is about addressing each person as a whole human, not just as a sore knee or twinged back. So, it's ok to have good days. It's ok to have days where coping seems hard. And if laughing at the occasional cute dog pic' or video when times are uncertain helps, then lets do that together.

17.01.2022 Can't meditate? You're not alone. So many people feel like they should be able to, which only makes trying harder! (Should, shmood btw; please let go of that judgemental thinking if that's you) Instead of fighting it or giving up all together, how about tricking your brain into it by calling it something else? silent seconds mindfulness practice seated contemplation You, unplugged ... Then, just approach whatever you've chosen to call it with curiosity and give it a try! Even if just for a minute (or 2, or 30). Fail at it! Talk to yourself the entire time. Fidget. Decided to get up 10 times in 2 minutes, but don't. Then come back tomorrow. And the next day. And the next. Before you you know you'll be sitting with the yogis' like an expert! You'll also probably have more energy, be sleeping better at night, and feel less stressed overall See more

13.01.2022 A little light exercise on the day of your Bowen treatment is recommended

12.01.2022 When I was a kid, Mum was really good at finding creative things for me to do. One that I really liked and was super simple is 'Name Monsters'. fold a piece of paper in half and write your name along the fold cut around your name, forming an irregular shape unfold the shape you've made and flip it over to the blank side turn that shape into a 'monster'... Then, you can leave it as is, or you can draw a background to stick it on, or mount it on cardboard to make a bookmark or a magnet! If you don't feel like using your name, you could use a word, like 'love' or 'family'. Or if it's not for kids and you're angsty, a swear word. It's fun, easy, a bit creative and you don't have to buy anything to do it. Winning all 'round!

09.01.2022 Happy hump day everyone. Come see me some time

07.01.2022 If you're coming back to work after a usual weekend feeling tired rather than energised, you may be over stressed. We all know what that feels like, right? A little stress is o.k, it's whole purpose is to motivate our body into action in response to change. But too much can lead to a weakened immune system (do you often get sick when you're really busy?), increased blood pressure, fatigue (double shot coffee, and still feeling foggy?), digestive issues or anxiety and depression. Bowen Therapy could give your stressed body a break by guiding you out of the 'fight or flight' part of your nervous system and back into the parasympathetic mode where rest and repair can happen. One treatment may be all it takes to get you back on track.

05.01.2022 A characterising feature of Bowen Therapy is a series of small sets of moves (usually 2-4), followed by the use of a therapeutic pause or ‘wait time’. We do this to allow the body to integrate the sensory information of the moves fully, without interruption from any further external stimulus. This video is a great visualisation of the ‘stimulation integration response’ relationships between the Bowen move and what we believe happens in your body during the wait times. Things happen. We let them. When they're done, we continue. Imagine trying to stick your hand in the middle of all that action before it was ready to settle! Cacophonous, right? Using an integrative wait time leaves (and trusts) the body to come back to a balanced centre where healing can take place

01.01.2022 Got any plans this weekend? Why not come to the High Vibe Collective Market in Sandgate on Saturday? I'll be there chatting with people about Bowen Therapy. If you've ever wondered what it's all about, it's a perfect opportunity to have your questions answered. So whether you just grab a brochure or sit for bit, I'd love to see you there! https://facebook.com//high-vibe-collect/2627109020855575/
