09.01.2022 When I feel stuck or restless, my normal instinct is to travel - I go back to Cambodia and instantly feel grounded. I connect to something outside of my self, family and culture reminds me I have a place in this world. Being confined to the house for most of this year has really made me aware of these emotions, and analyse my desire to escape! With everything that is 2020, it can be hard to find my footing and stay sane. I’ve adopted some healthy, and other not so healthy,... practices that help keep me in reality. How do you ground yourself? . These photos were taken in Battambang, where my family were from and ancestors lived. The second image is from the day my family introduced me to my great grandparents, their ashes are stored in this beautiful golden pagoda and it is where their spirits are believed to live when they visit.
