12.01.2022 Good news, the So 80s Studs are back tonight! These studs are labor intense but so worth the effort. Individual offcuts of leather are set piece by piece into resin. The resin is poured in two parts to allow for an opaque backing so the stud post isnt visible from the front. . These will be back online tonight, 7:30pm AEST. I’m a straight talking, fun loving, mum to two girls and two aussie bulldogs. I’m a bit of a stress head, an over thinker and a sensitive soul, although I’m learning to give less f*cks as I get older... ... Some fun facts about me: I’m super uncoordinated. I tried to do a gym class once but couldn’t do the arms and legs at the same time, my brain just can’t. I love sour lollies and salty plums. I don’t buy them often because I have no restraint and can’t stop until they’re all gone. Up until 2 years ago I never wore fun earrings. I thought I looked silly in them, and wore the same pair of studs every single day. I love a good laugh. 03.01.2022 PROCESS A little behind the scenes look at the process of making your So 80s studs. This is part 1 of a 2 part pour for these studs - I set each piece of leather into resin with tweezers, bright side facing down so that all the beautiful colours are visible from the front. I use slow curing resin (24hr set time) so that I have enough time to place all the pieces of leather, then once cured I pour a second layer of pigmented resin so that the studs have an opaque backing ...and the stud posts arent visible from the front. .
