23.01.2022 CUSTOMER LOVE Highly recommend the Being Boobie Balm, it's been my save and grace through this beginning stage of breastfeeding. Very recently became a mum 2nd time round, I knew the pain I'll be facing, after applying the balm and letting it absorb before breastfeeding again, it helped soothe my cracked and scabbed nipples. 20.01.2022 OUR JOURNEY As its the last day of World Breastfeeding Week, I thought I would share a bit of our story. My breastfeeding journey with my girl lasted 19 months. Certainly in the first week, I didnt even think I would last 19 days, let alone 19 months. The combination of a long labour, blood loss, sleep deprivation and also being a natural stress-head, meant my milk came in very late... As her appetite grew in those first few days, I couldnt keep up and she was feeding... so long and so frequently, the nipple pain was unbearable, and I was getting no rest... We needed to do top-ups with formula to make sure she still got her fill, and to be honest I felt like I was failing... Why am I so bad at this? I would think... I was in tears every day I can go on and on about all the challenges (of which we had our fair share) in the months following, the pain and discomfort, the mental load, the doubts; looking back, what got me through was the support I received from my husband and family, educating myself on this journey, and most importantly, really dialling back on the pressure I put on myself! If I chose to stop, we would be ok; If I had a bad day (or week) we would be ok; If people disagreed with my choices, we would be ok... As long as Elyse was fed and happy, and I gave it my all, we would be ok... and somehow I went from thinking I cant do this to really owning it and cherishing it so much! It was my super power! Whatever journey unfolds for you and whatever that looks like, you will be ok... And you are amazing!
