We had the pleasure of helping Deb recently with two rooms in her home that really just needed a set of fresh eyes on how she could get them to work better for her. It wasn’t about buying anything new as she already had most things she needed but we focused on some simple layout changes, a major declutter and utilizing what was already there. This colour scheme allows such a great opportunity to ramp up your focus on texture, lines and shape to create the spaces depth and harmony. It is definitely not a palette to be feared as when done right it adds such a grandeur to your home, not to mention it’s ability to be so timeless and versatile. ... In this design you will see black has been used to create a focal point with the tapeware. It’s definitely my least favourite chore but most people would be surprised how much time we actually spend in the laundry so why not make it an enjoyable room to be in. This full project is nearing completion and we got to sneak in today to grab a few shots of this amazing laundry to share. It is with a heavy heart that I wish to inform you that over the coming weeks I will be winding down the retail side of our business ‘Funky Homes’. With much discussion with my family we have decided that 2017 has to be the year that I prioritise myself, my family and focus my energy into our wholesale business and stop trying to be super women and take on the world, especially with the exciting new arrival of another little bundle of joy due in early July this year. Managing both businesses and a family has been a huge juggle, and I now know I need to reassess what's more important. This journey over the last 7 years has truly been a blast and writing this to you all breaks my heart. Funky Homes has offered me such an opportunity to grow and develop, yes there has been some lows over the years but also there has been so many highs and I’ve been able to meet the most amazing and supportive customers, suppliers and community members but best of all I’ve made many new and lasting friendships in the process. I truly hope everyone knows how grateful I am. Funky Homes will continue to trade over the coming 6-8 weeks, as we have a lot of clearing to do, from stock to shop fittings and fixtures; it all has to go. We will be offering huge specials and will work on having the sale advertised across as many channels as we can so no one misses out.
