This means all egg sitting and chick rearing duties are shared equally between breeding pairs, with ...one partner venturing out to sea to catch fish while the other stays home in the burrow (then they swap) during the initial weeks. At the moment, Phillip Island’s penguin parents are preparing their burrows for the arrival of this season’s chicks. Some early pairs have already had their eggs hatch!
