23.01.2022 Sunset cruise tour with Lake Argyle Cruises did not disappoint. Greg was a great captain and host and we learnt about the area, how much water the lake holds - did you know that when it overspills the water lost daily would supply perth for a year!! We were taken to see rock wallabies, crocs, waterfalls and of course a swim. The highlight of the trip had to be our sunset swim with a glass of champagne and a tray of dips n chips bobbing buy. Amazing value for money and bookable through our stores so if Lake argyle hasnt made your list yet, pop it on!!

22.01.2022 With the roads still closed but water levels dropping we start to make our way a little bit closer in case the levels rise. The update was due to come in just after 4pm as to if the roads will be open. The 2nd part of the road from Fitzroy crossing to Halls Creek was currently closed to all vehicles. We drove towards Derby and arrived just after lunch. Meandered our way down to the port and chatted to a guy fishing, wasn't his day but he assured us that there was a big one tha...t had just got away ;) The update came in just before 5 and nope road still closed. Our former staff member Kelsey had actually moved to Derby recently and generously offered us a bed for the night. The aircon, hot showers and comfortable bed were extremely welcome. We had the most amazing meal at Neaps Bistro . A truely welcome oasis you could have literally been in the Mediterranean if you used your imagination. With friendly attentive staff it was easy to see why the place was so full. We all had amazing meals, and could not resist the delicious deserts. At the end of the evening after endless chatting our hearts and bellies were full. Thanks Kelsey and Richo for the beautiful hospitality. See more

08.01.2022 Another early morning driving but we were determined to get to our destination which was the amazing Lake Argyle Resort and Caravan Park . We had booked a sunset river tour where we would get to swim in the largest man made lake. Having had to cancel our previous one due to the delays we were able to squeeze on one the day after the road opened so that didnt leave a huge amount of time to get there. We managed to arrive at around 1pm ready for out 2pm cruise. Had a really warm reception from the staff found our spot to rest in and got ready for the tour. Check out our view!

07.01.2022 So the road being closed due to flooding meant that we have had to stop in Broome for a few days, our time was spent at Cable Beach Caravan Park which is a fantastic location just behind Cable beach resort. The resort is quite large with great bbq facilities, laundry and a really lovely shaded pool, which we had to ourselves a couple of times! We have visited Broome before but still found plenty to do including dinner Matso's Beer with live music, watching the sun set on the iconic cable beach, dinner at the Divers Tavern Cable Beach Broome - gotta love those pork belly bites, caught a movie at the oldest picture gardens in the world at Sunpictures day tripping out to the dinosaur footprints and natures window and even saw the famous broome camels going for a walk!
