13.01.2022 HELP Cambodia has recently provided emergency funds for food distribution to families in the DCC community who are experiencing extreme hardship as a result of loss of jobs due to the COVID 19 pandemic. The video is a very realistic snapshot of the effects COVID 19 is having on our friends in Cambodia and the devastating hardship experienced by families.
12.01.2022 In the past months DCC staff have been working hard to help students to continue their education from home. Initially class sizes were reduced and staggered to allow for social distancing. Then after school closures the staff prepared packages of work which students could collect from the DCC centre to be worked on at home. These have been returned weekly and new worksheets collected. We are very encouraged to see how enthusiastically students have applied themselves to this ...different way of learning. Many student have been communicating with their sponsors via email by accessing the schools computers. We encourage all sponsors to connect with their sponsor student in this way as it is very beneficial for them to practise and improve their English language skills. Currently there are only 33 reported COVID 19 cases in Cambodia (all people who returned from overseas). The government is now considering gradually reopening schools and universities. See more
