We need people who can speak to people over the phone and help them work out their eligibility for the various assistance packages available for the bushfires and for the Coronavirus. We will provide full training and materials. In these times of isolation and social distancing, your help could make a great difference to our community and help keep us all connected. 21.01.2022 The bushfires that roared through Cobargo, Wandella, Yowrie and Quaama in the early hours of New Years Eve last year devastated the lives of so many who lost their homes, their belongings, their animals, everything. Help has now arrived for nine families who will be able call one of these amazing temporary accommodation pods their home. Gladdens the heart, doesnt it?

What is it? A payment to businesses and not-for-profits so they can keep operating, pay bills and keep staff on. The payment is tax free. How much? A total payment of $20,000 - $100,000 in two tranches. How is it paid? As an automatic credit in your tax activity statement system from 28 April 2020 Who can get it? You must be a small business or a not-for-profit that employees people. When do I get it? Once you lodge your activity statement. It will be paid automatically as a credit. If you lodge your tax monthly for the March, April, May and June 2020 lodgements If you lodge your tax quarterly for the March and June 2020 lodgements. What do we not yet know? If you have had to let employees go, but think that this would help you keep them, we dont know yet if you can rehire them and qualify. We will find out. If you think that you could take on some staff and you employ them before you lodge your activity statement for March, we dont know whether you will receive a payment for those staff. We will find out.

In good faith, did you lose 40percent of your revenue over three months because of the bushfires? If you did, you should apply. You will not need to provide your evidence to get approval for this grant, but you will need to provide your evidence of loss of revenue later, when it is asked for. Step Two: Get Registered Our Coordinator will put you on the master register and assign you a client number. Our Coordinator will contact you and ask for your permission for a volunteer to call you and ask you the questions below. Once we have your permission, your client number and telephone number (not your name) will be passed to a volunteer who will call you, ask you the following questions and get you fully registered. Step Three: Get Information Once you are registered, our Coordinator will put together a package of information that meets your circumstances and send it to you by email. You may then choose to take that information and make your own applications. Well give you a call (referencing your client number) and check up on how youre doing after youve had the information for a week or so. Step Four: Get Applying If you need help putting your applications together, well seek your permission to pass your name and details on to a volunteer Case Manager who will work with you to get your applications ready for you to send them to your accountant for advice, or to submit them, whichever you prefer. Remember, we do not provide advice: only help and information.

We have been helping wherever we can since 1 January 2020 - helping people find beds to evacuate to; helping to get food and services into Bermagui when our town had no power, drinking water or food; getting Butane to our aboriginal community at Wallaga Lake; and helping people access government assistance. What is it? A payment to help small businesses keep on apprentices and trainees. How much? A maximum of $21,000 per apprentice or trainee ($7,000 per quarter). Who can get it? Small businesses with fewer than 20 full-time employees. On 1 March 2020, your apprentice or trainee must already have been employed with you. Who is eligible? We dont know. An eligibility assessment will be done by an AASN provider. If you are eligible, you will be able to get the payment after that assessment. How do I apply? Details have not be provided yet. We will keep an eye on that for you.
