16.01.2022 We couldn't resist - we had to hear it again! Thankfully Alex was happy to oblige us when we visited him the next day with his favourite food. :-)

16.01.2022 The latest update on Alex - please feel free to share

13.01.2022 Okay peeps, it's time to show that Aussies aren't just mapgie tp hoarders! Tweet Officeworks and ask them to print the flyers, and then get to dropping them off... in your local area. File download link can be found here: https://www.theguardian.com//coronavirus-campaign-launched Here's my tweet

13.01.2022 The response to the NSW fundraiser by Celeste Barber has been astounding. Please don't forget the VIC fundraiser though!

12.01.2022 Great idea, well done Brandon!

12.01.2022 Alex had an appointment at the RCH today. He was an absolute champ during the appointment, plus in providing a urine sample. The best moment however, was when Deb asked him, "what's your name?" "My name is Alex" came out as clear as anything. Needless to say, I cried. And I am crying. Happy tears!!!

09.01.2022 A Warning about NDIS plan management: We’ve recently spoken to a growing number of NDIS participants whose plans were being plan managed by a very large, market... leading plan management provider. They were not happy with the service they were receiving and decided to look at alternative providers when their plan ended. Unbeknownst to them, their old plan manager has a habit of automatically lodging a service booking on any new plans and immediately withdrawing the set-up fee (and usually a monthly fee). This means that any new provider cannot be paid for the time taken to set up a new client, and some may refuse to do this. So, if you’re wanting to change your plan management provider with your next plan, please do yourself a favour and send your current PM an email (before the plan ends) stating that you would like to cease their services as from the ending of your current plan. Do not advise them of the new plan dates or send them a copy of the new plan. This may save you a lot of time and grief in trying to get fee refunds after they’ve been taken out of your plan. I believe that acting on a plan without a client’s consent not only robs choice and control from the client but possibly borders on fraud, but that’s a discussion for lawyers (which I am not! ). If you do ever have an issue with any provider that you have not been able to resolve with them, you can lodge a complaint with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (details are on their website). 05.01.2022 Growing up far too fast!

04.01.2022 Wow! What a great idea!

03.01.2022 John Pietryka is an Autism Dad who became a naturopath in order to help his son be healthy, and he's also a good friend of mine. I love this video he put together of a young girl's struggle to eat - so many children with Autism have issues with food. Parents who haven't experienced it will often tell you, "they'll eat when they're hungry". As you can see in this video - that is not always the case! The video is only 8 minutes long, so if you've got a child on the spectrum or know someone who does, spend the next 8 minutes watching this!

01.01.2022 The latest on Alex!
