We will be sharing our thoughts on current life topics, our daily struggles & successes and of course SPORT ... 14.01.2022 Amazing turn out to our last Community Basketball game for 2021 Massive appreciation to all the brothers and (2)sisters that join us every second Monday to help promote this initiative! The reason we started and will continue to run these games is to encourage positive & healthy socialisation! To encourage men and woman to find alternative ways to create new friendships or strengthen current friendships so that we don’t feel confined to just the socially norm of drinking a...nd eating out. Don’t get us wrong, we LOVE food and enjoy the odd whiskey but it’s about understanding that these shouldn’t be the most common ways in which we view socialising now that we are adults If you are keen to join us in the new year for any of our community basketball games please feel free to comment below or send us a DM

08.01.2022 IDENTITY - is a word that is easily misplaced and misused from non indigenous races/cultures but some what easily explained. For those whom are a part of a culture that have been colonised, identity far supersedes the definition within the common English dictionary. It is often a word that is associated with loss, trauma and confusion. So explaining or defining identity for the indigenous peoples of Australia isn’t any where near as easy as it is for their non indigenous co...unterparts. In fact due to so much traditional loss it isn’t far fetched to suggest identity would seem to be a define-less word. Help Ya Self are all about moving forward in life as individuals and as a collective BUT.....to not acknowledge the hardship that a particular people have faced is not only a disservice to them but also to ourselves......for we live and enjoy their land after all. Today for all its controversy and opinions we just hope that it places a much needed positive spotlight on the beautiful culture that blesses this land and the beautiful people that walked its vastness far before any of us embraced its many opportunities. To our indigenous brothers and sisters that have lost so much.....we stand with you proudly and support your efforts to reclaim your identity Kia kaha, Kia maia, Kia manawanui
