15.01.2022 This week is Veterans' Health Week (26/10 - 3/11/19) and the 2019 theme is Mental Wellness. One of the areas so important for mental wellness and overall health and wellbeing is getting regular quality sleep. Sleep is important not just to allow you to rest but also to let your brain get busy and do its repair work! Quality sleep helps improve your concentration and memory formation, boosts your immune system, and supports physical recovery.

15.01.2022 What is neurofeedback? By using visual or auditory feedback, we can give the brain feedback on its own activity, and train it to change brainwave patterns to improve overall brain function. People can train their brain to reduce unwanted symptoms, to improve focus, or for peak performance. Find out more:... https://hemispheres.com.au/services/neurofeedback/

09.01.2022 An Update to our Hemispheres Community. Our hearts are with our country, and the rest of the world as the COVID-19 crisis continues. As a business, we take the health and safety of our clients, team and the broader community seriously and to ensure we are doing our part, last week we made the difficult decision to close our practice space temporarily. ... All of our sessions moved to telehealth, either online or over the phone, from Monday 23rd March. If you are feeling nervous about moving to online sessions (also called video conferencing or telehealth), we can arrange a short appointment with you to ensure youre set up and ready for your next session and to iron out any nerves you have about technology. We are using the Zoom platform for video conferencing. Yesterday, our Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt announced measures to allow Medicare and DVA-funded psychology sessions to continue via telehealth. Similarly, the NDIS, WorkCover and most Private Health Insurers are supporting our capacity to provide telehealth therapies. As mental health practitioners, we are fortunate to be able to continue to offer our support to clients, and while we can no longer see you face-to-face, we will work hard to safeguard that you continue to have access to our support. If you are a new Hemispheres client, we may not meet you in person for a while, but please be assured, our focus is to ensure that you feel welcomed to our service and supported through your initial intake and commencement of therapy. Please phone us on 0439 074 075 or email [email protected] to request further information or a telehealth consultation. We will continue to stay in touch via our social media channels. Please watch this space as we continue to introduce new content and feel-good moments. Finally, we wish you and your families well in these uncertain times. Please take care, look after one another, and we look forward to seeing you again in person in the future. Jane, Claire, Michelle & Simin The Hemispheres Team

06.01.2022 COVID-19 PRACTICE UPDATE We have now reopened and are offering appointments during the Coronavirus outbreak. We ask as a precautionary measure and in order to keep our clients and staff safe, that you please do not attend an appointment if you are experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms. ... Appointments via telehealth are also available. Please contact the practice on 0439 074 075 if we can be of assistance. We look forward to seeing you soon.

04.01.2022 Our very first post and a big hello from Hemispheres. The picture tells the story. Brains are our passion.

04.01.2022 Did you know that auditory sensitivities can be linked to deficits in the brain's auditory processing? This can impact language development, the ability to cope with noise in public spaces, the way we engage socially, and even our capacity to maintain eye contact with others! The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a revolutionary new music-based therapy. By listening to acoustically-modified music for just one hour a day over five consecutive days the nervous system calms and stabilises, in turn, this helps reduce our daily stress and improve our quality of life! Please contact the Hemispheres team to find out more about how you can access this exciting therapy.
