Hormonal imbalances: Too little or too much of certain canine hormones can cause itchy skin. Flea bites are one of the more common causes of a skin rash caused by a parasite. Seborrhoea: More commonly known as dandruff, seborrhoea also occurs in dogs and causes greasy, scaly skin. This is usually a sign of some other unresolved issue like a hormonal imbalance when it occurs in dogs. Bacterial infections: Bacterial infections are often at the root of your pets skin infections. Folliculitis is a kind of bacterial infection that causes bumps, scaly patches and other itchy problems on the skin; impetigo is another bacterial skin infection that is common in dogs. Fungal infections: Fungal infections are another source of itchy skin in dogs. Yeast is a fungus that commonly infects the ears and paws of dogs; ringworm is another fungal infection that afflicts dogs with very itchy skin. Cysts in dogs: lumps under the skin that are benign. These can be caused by blocked oil ducts, infections, allergic reactions, or injury.

Sometimes dogs may unexpectedly start vocalising, either barking, whimpering or growling in their sleep. Sometimes dogs shake, quiver, and twitch. Some dogs even behave as though they are running, with their legs pumping in the air as they snore away. Occasionally dogs have even been known to snap at the air in their sleep, like they ar...e trying to bite something or someone only they can see. Based on canine research, its highly probable that dogs do in fact dream. Even cooler, they actually may dream in the same or similar ways that humans dream, by replaying the prior days events during their sleep cycle. This is because structurally, dogs have brains that are a lot like humans. When a dog is sleeping, brain wave patterns that resemble the same as humans exhibit while sleeping can be observed. Dogs appear to go through the same stages of electrical and brainwave activity while sleeping that people go through, which points to the probability they are in fact dreaming.
