18.01.2022 Since Henbury On Aralia opened, we have had a strong relationship with Coles, in particular our local shop Casuarina Village Coles. Each week we get an online order from Coles to get all of our ingredients, as well going on extra shopping trips with students to practise reading lists, finding items, using money and interacting in the community. Just recently, Coles Casuarina Village has begun donating monthly gift vouchers to our cafe, further supporting what we do. ... Here you see one of our year 9 students stepping up and filling a gap for us this week, serving two of our most lovely and loyal customers (they visit us for lunch every week!). He did a brilliant job on his very first day, quickly picking up the skills of the retail section, and with a keen positive attitude that any employer would snap up! Our regulars gave him some very positive feedback too:-) ... We are very lucky to have these younger students backstage...waiting in the wings for their opportunity. Kate here is displaying our wire headband, which has a flexible wire running through the fabric, allowing you to tie a bow and make it sit wherever you like it! 15.01.2022 We had our final opening day at Henbury on Aralia for 2020 on Saturday 12th December, and what a great way to finish a big year! We thank all our wonderful customers for your ongoing support and custom, without you we wouldn’t be able to operate! Our students have learnt so much this year you will have noticed great improvements to their communication and hospitality skills, not to mention their confidence and belief in themselves as capable workers. A massive thank you to... our Café Manager Tahnee who is finishing up with us. Tahnee has done an amazing job strengthening cafe procedures and processes and creating valuable visual resources that help our students learn different tasks. She is a whizz on social media posts and her contribution to our menu creations have been fantastic. Students have learnt so much from Tahnee and we will all certainly miss her. We look forward to seeing Tahnee around at the café as a customer, and wish her all the best for her future plans! Thank you Tahnee. As we shut down for the Christmas break, plans are in the pipeline for re-opening around Week 4 of the new school term (late February). We have new teams of students to train up and some new exciting ideas to develop! We wish you all a safe, restful and festive Christmas break, and look forward to welcoming you back to Henbury on Aralia in 2021!
