25.01.2022 The Henley Sharks Football Club are very pleased to announce the appointment of Vinnie Rugolo as our Div 2 Senior Coach for the 2021-22 seasons. Vinnie comes with a wealth of football experience having played SANFL football for the Eagles and Port Magpies. Vinnie successfully coached the Eagles Reserves in 2018-19 finishing 2nd in 2019 where they played off in the grand final. Vinnie played Senior Football for Henley for 4 seasons and was a pivotal member of our Div 1 Premi...ership in 2010. He left Henley to play and then Coach Goolwa in the Southern Football League. Vinnie returned to the Sharks this year as Assistant Coach. With a strong list of experienced and youthful players committed to the 2021 season, the Club looks forward to ‘going all the way’ next year. 25.01.2022 Henley Football Club is excited to announce the first of it’s new signings in SEAN BAKER. Sean is a tough hard running midfielder who won the ‘Best on Ground’ medal in the Barossa League Grand Final and came top 3 in the league medal for the season. Along with his footballing, Sean will head up the strength & conditioning programme for the footy club ... Sean has a wealth of knowledge here including heading up SANFL team West Adelaide’s fitness programme in there 2015 premiership and currently heads the high performance for the Australian men and women’s lacrosse team. He now assists athletes at his gym PEAQ where his aim is to bring the fitness of local athletes to Elite! It has been encouraging to see a number of our players already joining PEAQ to work with Sean to improve. 24.01.2022 FOOTY IS BACK If you are attending tomorrows trial matches, please read carefully: We are all aware of the COVID-19 restrictions that are in place at the moment in our country. Henley Football Club is no different and we have a few rules and regulations in place that we ask spectators and club patrons to respectfully abide by.... The club can have a MAXIMUM capacity of 30 INSIDE and 30 OUTSIDE (under the verandah) at any one time. This may mean slower than usual service or longer wait times. Please be patient with us. We are able to sell takeaway alcohol, which MUST ONLY be consumed when SEATED. If you plan to have a drink and watch the footy, please dont hang around the front of the club if you dont have to. BYO deck chair. Attending huddles at any quarter time break is NOT ALLOWED. Only players and match day officials are allowed on the ground. Please keep 1.5m apart at all times. If a club official asks you to abide by COVID-19 rules, please cooperate. By not complying, you put the club at risk of financial penalties. If possible, please spectate from your car. We have sanitising stations around the club for your convenience so please take advantage of these and stay hygienic. 22.01.2022 Congratulations to Brett Dobson for playing 150 games for the club on the weekend! Brett has been part of Henley Football Club since 2011 when he moved over from Melbourne. Since then, Brett has been involved in 2 premierships in 2018 & 2019 and has won 2 best and fairest awards in 2015 & 2018. Off the field, Brett has volunteered countless hours towards our club, including being club treasurer since 2018.... Speaking to Brett last week, I asked about his highlights at the club, this is what he told me: Since moving to Henley, Ive had many great memories, the 2018 premiership was special to me as it was the first flag I won at the club. Equally as special was how welcoming the club were when we first moved over, it just made the move that much easier. 16.01.2022 Join us in welcoming some of our Senior Coaches for 2020: A Grade Assistants: STEFAN JARMAN - Defensive Assistant Coach... Stefan is a former junior of the club who went on to play at North Adelaide until he came back to us in 2013. Since then, he has won 2 senior flags and was the best and fairest in the B grade in 2019. He coached the Under 18s at Henley for 2 years. JOSH MILLER - Midfield Assistant Coach Josh is also a former junior of the football club who went on to play for Glenleg in 2013 until 2015, Norwood 2016-2017, Myponga in 2018 before returning to Norwood in 2019. Josh was also the defensive coach for the A grade in 2020. B Grade Coach: STEFAN PRIESLEY - Stef came over to Henley from Goodwood in 2020 coached the B grade who went undefeated and won the 2020 Grandfinal. We can't wait for 2021 at Shark Park! GO SHARKS

12.01.2022 Henley Sharks COVID-19 UPDATE With the COVID-19 pandemic evolving at a rapid rate, we as a club are following the latest guidance from the Adelaide Footy League and SANFL Juniors. We are taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of players, members and our local community. Both the Adelaide Football League and SANFL Juniors have suspended all competition until May 31st with a tentative new start date proposed for the second weekend of June. With player membership, r...egistrations and any fees that we have received for the 2020 season the committee are currently reviewing the situation and will be communicating information to all its players and sponsors in due course. As a club, we have taken the step of cancelling/postponing ALL trainings, trial games and club events until Saturday 4th April, at which point we will reconvene to reassess the situation for our club. This includes all junior and senior trainings, all trial games, all Auskick sessions, and all club events. This decision has not been made lightly, but we are confident that we are acting in the best interests of our members, players, supporters and the broader community and have made this decision after consultation with all the necessary evidence regarding best practice at this time. The welfare of our players, members and community is the foremost priority in our minds at this time. We encourage all our club community to stay safe and to reach out if there is anything we can do to help lend our support over the next few weeks. The club will remain open on Friday nights from 4.30pm until close for our members unless otherwise advised but we will be maintaining a high level of precautionary measures to protect our local community. 08.01.2022 JUNIOR FOOTBALL COVID-19 UPDATE Given the current situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and in the interest of keeping our members, families, immediate and extended Henley Sharks community safe. The Junior Committee has decided to cancel all Junior Football Trainings, Trial Games and Auskick effective immediately.... As a Football Club we strive to support and protect our players, parents and community at feel that this is the best course of action for now. We will continue to consult with the SANFL and Governing Bodies and will have more information following our committee meeting Wednesday night 18/03/2020. 06.01.2022 Message from the Senior Coach: All current players and any new players who wish to play senior football at Henley are welcome to join the Henley Sharks FC for the commencement of pre season training. This includes any u18’s or u17.5’s who wish to get a jump start on their training. Training will commence on the 8th of December at 6pm at Henley high school, we will host 4 sessions pre Christmas on Tuesday and Thursday nights.... 04.01.2022 FOOTY IS BACK If you are attending tomorrow’s trial matches, please read carefully: We are all aware of the COVID-19 restrictions that are in place at the moment in our country. Henley Football Club is no different and we have a few rules and regulations in place that we ask spectators and club patrons to respectfully abide by.... The club can have a MAXIMUM capacity of 30 INSIDE and 30 OUTSIDE (under the verandah) at any one time. This may mean slower than usual service or longer wait times. Please be patient with us. We are able to sell takeaway alcohol, which MUST ONLY be consumed when SEATED. If you plan to have a drink and watch the footy, please don’t hang around the front of the club if you don’t have to. BYO deck chair. Attending huddles at any quarter time break is NOT ALLOWED. Only players and match day officials are allowed on the ground. Please keep 1.5m apart at all times. If a club official asks you to abide by COVID-19 rules, please cooperate. By not complying, you put the club at risk of financial penalties. If possible, please spectate from your car. We have sanitising stations around the club for your convenience so please take advantage of these and stay hygienic.
