15.01.2022 Congratulations to our very own Layan Saadeh, who has been nominated for the City of Charles Sturt, Australia Day Award for Young Citizen of the Year!! The recipient will be announced on Australia Day. This young lady has such an impressive resume of community contributions and achievements that not only include everything she does at the Henley SLSC and SLSSA but for the Glimmer Of Hope organisation for Palestinians living in Adelaide, the Henley High School, AFL umpiring and was the recipient of the Henley High School Long Tan Australian Defence Award for leadership and community. Your Henley SLSC family are very proud of you Layan and wish you all the best for this amazing recognition.

15.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE - 18/11/20: In compliance with the State Government's latest advice and directives to stay home, all of our frontline lifesaving services will b...e on standby for this weekend. This means we will not be on Patrol, but our clubs and Emergency Operations Group remain 24/7 rescue ready should we be called upon in the event of an emergency situation. Please take care, stay safe and look out for one another.

14.01.2022 Ever wondered who the people are who train on the beach and in the ocean directly in front of the Henley SLSC (boxing, boards, surf skis etc)? Most of the people you see are members at Henley who exercise to keep fit ready for patrol, compete in surf sports competitions or just for fun Here’s a couple of photos of the early am ski paddler group....

13.01.2022 It was a busy weekend for our SA lifesavers, with volunteers clocking up over 2,000 patrol hours. 8 sharks were spotted, lifesavers made 1 rescue at South Port beach and also performed 117 preventative actions. A strong reminder to always swim between the flags and know your limits.

12.01.2022 More celebrations for our own Layan Saadeh who was today awarded the Young Citizen of the Year at the City of Charles Sturt Australia Day Awards. Layan is a very worthy winner with all her volunteer and community work, and once again we congratulate her on receiving this award. We also extend thanks to Councillor Kenzie van den Nieuwelaar who supported Layan’s nomination and to Matt Cowdrey OAM MP for his ongoing support of Layan and our club. ... Thanks to Layan for inviting Henley SLSC board members Rae, Sue and Carly to be present at the ceremony along with your proud family.

11.01.2022 Saturday signaled the start of the Surf Life Saving patrol season. Thousands of dedicated Surf Life Saving SA volunteers are returning to our beaches to kee...p the community safe. We thank each and everyone of these volunteers for their service and the West Beach Surf-Lifesaving Club & Henley Surf Life Saving Club. Let's make their job easier by doing the right thing, swimming between the flags and knowing our limitations.
