17.01.2022 Carpentry wasnt everything I thought it would be when I finished my apprenticeship. Coming out of a small town in #yambansw and doing my apprenticeship I was taught everything I needed to be a good carpenter/builder off some hard old men at work and playing footy for the @lowerclarencemagpies_official that shaped the man I am today, I also learnt a lot of lessons about loyalty and respect. What I wasnt taught is the countless hours of paperwork, stress, trying to keep p...eople happy whether it be clients, contractors, employees, the fact that there are people out there that get a kick out of stepping on someone elses dream. Someone @jasminebonnieactive recently told me I need to find my motivation to be a better version of myself and that reason is my family and to prove a point t a lot of people. Now that I have my builders licence, 2 beautiful sons and a wife @teegs_17 that doesnt get enough credit for all the help and sacrifice she has given to help me achieve my dream of becoming a builder. I thought I wanted to be a builder to be the man in charge and make the money but I now realise that my purpose is to provide for my family and I want to provide clients with everything they want out of there renovation or new build and leave a mark in the building trade that is that its not all about money and all builders arent just out there to rip people off, I love turning homes into houses and getting the positive feedback at the end. Of course everyones main reason for working is to make money, but I love my job and my family. Lewis is the newest addition and seeing him and Henry smile let me know its worth the countless hours I spend on the job. If there is anyone/ apprentices being told they are useless and no good I was told all of that for years on end. Now Im doing my own thing building, them guys are still stuck in there job they never left and chase me for work. So never let anyone get in your head and put in the extra effort every day.
