25.01.2022 With winter behind us, we thought the snow had gone too. But not so! Sunday saw another dusting here on The Farm, covering the 'new' raised garden beds, which are being constructed from materials reclaimed from a derelict shed. New fences that are going to protect our market garden have been marked and tension poles are next on our to-do list. This will increase our pademelon proof production area by over an acre! More updates are to follow as we enjoy the extra sunlight.

23.01.2022 After a morning storm and demolished chicken coops (images to come), then a late finish at the hotel, and an even later pizza, it's time to snug up for the night. 7C. How's Brisbane?

15.01.2022 With the first snow already come and gone, we're busy foraging for blackberries, and making jams and wines to enjoy when the cold has truly set in.

14.01.2022 First time for everything. Had a go at carrot jam. Tastes delicious, even if I say so myself.

13.01.2022 We found ourselves an echidna. Hopefully Boo, the resident wombat, pops by at some stage.

13.01.2022 This tree stands alone in one of the paddocks. Maybe it had some significance to the previous owners.

12.01.2022 The last of the spuds are out, making way for our winter Brussels sprouts.

03.01.2022 It seems the flowers in the mountains didn't get the memo last month, and are springing into action. Kiri is thrilled with her tulips and irises, blooming beautifully, currently residing in our hothouse. Our weeping cherry is flowering strong, with crab apples, mulberry, hazelnut, and mountain pepper berries all boasting new shoots and tiny buds. In our hothouse/nursery there is an abundance of different flowers and vegetables sprouting, and new trees ready for the market garden.

03.01.2022 Making progress in the cottage garden. One weed we found smelt like chicken booster

02.01.2022 Banjo! Fabulous.
