17.01.2022 It is important to remind our community that Naloxone is a life saving device to have on you, and can be obtained by visiting HepatitisWA during the hours of 10am 2pm weekdays. Naloxone can be supplied to people at risk of opioid overdose or likely to witness opioid overdose and can be issued to anybody through HepatitisWA’s Needle and Syringe Program following a one-on-one brief education session. Signs of overdose can range from clammy skin, blue lips, shallow breathing, ...a gurgling or snoring sound from the mouth and being non-responsive to sounds or touch. If you can’t get a response from someone you suspect has overdosed - 1. Call an ambulance on 000 IMMEDIATELY 2. Lay the person flat on their back and tilt their chin up 3. Spray Nyxoid intra nasal spray into one nostril 4. Lay the person into recovery position 5. Repeat again if no response in 2-3 minutes If clients are experiencing problems of accessing transport into Northbridge, HepatitisWA’s NSP can post Naloxone orders.
