24.01.2022 FIRE PREPAREDNESS UPDATE The new process to receive and approve requests from our Melbourne-based property owners to undertake emergency preparation at their properties will be live on our website tomorrow. We appreciate the patience of non-resident property owners, many of whom we know have not been able to visit their properties for many months. It also means a lot to our residents to know these properties will be ready for the summer bushfire season. ... People from Melbourne who do come up to prepare their properties need to abide by the restrictions they live under in Melbourne. 23.01.2022 Planned burning Forest Fire Management Victoria have advised that the following planned burning will be carried out, weather conditions permitting: Daylesford Ajax Rd, 21ha’s of the planned 210.1ha’s, 2km North West of Daylesford ... 04.01.2022 Are you fire ready? The fire season is nearly here and we all have a part to play in reducing the risk of fire in our Shire. Council has commenced its fire prevention inspection program and any properties considered to be a risk will be issued with a notice. If you have concerns regarding a particular property, feel free to contact Customer Service on 5348 2306 to make a report. Council’s fire prevention officers will inspect the property and issue notices where required.

Bag It, Block It, Lift It and Leave. Bag it - by laying sandbags where water may get into your home. Block it - by covering your toilet and drains to prevent back-flow and then ‘Lift-it and Leave’ by shifting valuables onto tables and benchtops and leaving early to a family or friends house on higher ground - which... is still ok to do in-line with COVID-19 restrictions.
