25.01.2022 Replaced the bottom railing of the frame for this sliding gate in a set of cattle yards. It was still functioning - for the time being - but it's working a whole lot smoother now!

24.01.2022 Hepworth Metalworks can also provide Aluminium welding... This dog trailer needed new repairs to old fixes that had previously been made by somebody else. Replaced a worn out patch, and welded a back post that had cracked through. While the majority of my work is completed onsite at the clients properties, its not always practical, in which case its good to have plenty of room here for even the big jobs!

24.01.2022 Fabricated a stronger, tougher, better draw bar tongue for this slasher to replace the very well-used old one.

23.01.2022 When you get a call to replace a bearing thats broken on a plough... Even I was shocked to see how far gone this bearing was - All the rollers of the bearing have completely disappeared #notjustwelding

21.01.2022 Thanks to all our customers, and all our Facebook likers, for your support this year! Wishing you love and laughter tomorrow, and a happy and healthy New Year! Not long to go now, hope your presents are all wrapped, and your alcohol is chilling Merry Christmas!

21.01.2022 This hay trailer is better than new with more braces, more cross members, and new mesh. Hows yours looking?

20.01.2022 There's not too much we can't fix at Hepworth Metalworks!

20.01.2022 Hepworth Metalworks... not a 9-5er

19.01.2022 Thanks to Anthony Menzies of Menzies Auto & Residential Glass for our first Facebook review! Heres some of the gear that Anthony mentions in his review, a vehicle glass rack and a moveable cutting table. Thanks Anthony! (p.s. weve had a house window and a car windscreen replaced by Menzies Auto & Residential Glass, and certainly recommend him too).

17.01.2022 Something to watch out for when ordering promo items Our only stand out item so far has been this one bee-yoo-tiful pink pen that apparently someone special ordered in our last lot of pens! Very Boilermaker-ish, dont you think??

16.01.2022 Fabricated and erected a new shed for an irrigation pump and control box, after the old shed blew down in heavy winds. The new shed features cut out sections built around exisiting pipe work and electrical conduits, and a removable roof and a removable side wall to allow for easy extraction of the pump for repairs... and some more walls, and a door

15.01.2022 Swapped out a ringfeeder hitch for a pintle hook on a truck and trailer, so that theyre able to be used more readily at a new site that favours the pintle hooks. It involved fabricating and installing a new plate, so that the larger hitch fit on with the original bolt holes, so it can be swapped back if needed in the future.

15.01.2022 Fabricated a five metre long platform to add to the side of a rotary dairy to give easy access for preg testing. Stand-alone so that it can be moved out of the way when not in use.

14.01.2022 Repairs to a broken mounting foot on a centre pivot irrigator. A relatively small job, but vital repairs.

12.01.2022 Quality Control

11.01.2022 Something I’ve never made before, and probably never imagined I’d be called upon to make! A cage for a beehive, as a donation to Scone Grammar School, at the request of our neighbour Kaliya who is a teacher there. https://sgs.nsw.edu.au/native-bee-hives/

11.01.2022 Fabricated a new drawbar for an old tractor.

09.01.2022 Ive just finished up my part of another huge job for Newgate Farm - keep an eye out next week for photos of their awesome new Foaling Unit. But for now, #throwbackthursday to 2017 when I spent two months fabricating gates, fences, and loading ramps for Newgates impressive Arrival Yards. #nothingstoogood #itspossible #nofilterneeded

08.01.2022 Ever had a load of grain spilt and had to shovel it back into the silo? How about that gravel rash! I opened the casing above the auger and fabricated a mesh shield to stop the gravel from jamming and damaging the auger and fabricated a neat cover plate to pack it all away again, as well as finding and repairing some damage already caused.

08.01.2022 Sometimes patching a job at home with whatevers lying around looks a bit different when youre a Boilermaker! Some pretty schmick replacement rails right there

06.01.2022 Finished and delivered this trailer-load of beautiful freshly made gates for a local horse stud today. (Or, New gates for Newgate)

06.01.2022 On-site irrigation repairs, replacing a seal in the top of the water motor. ~ Hepworth Metalworks - #notjustwelding ~ Definitely demonstrating the convenience of Hepworth Metalworks mobile services... no need to even unhook the irrigator, let alone take it away for repairs! Plus photos of another recent irrigation job, replacing a worn out bearing and bolt, and welding up a hole and replacing a bearing in the gun. Also experienced with many other aspects of irrigation repair, such as replacing seals in the valve near the water motor, and changing the gearbox in the winder mechanism, thanks to subcontracting with Warren of Irritrader in Scone.

05.01.2022 We now have a website!! Its not much, but it works www.hepworthmetalworks.com.au

05.01.2022 New barriers to match the end assemblies I've been fabricating. The concern was that after installing this trough against the new end assembly, the horses could potentially injure themselves if they were running along the fence line and didn't notice the trough. The matching rails should guide the horses past the trough, while keeping the place looking as neat and organised as ever.

04.01.2022 How do you know when youve put off emptying the scrap steel bin for too long?? Trying to find the source of the squeaking noise this afternoon, and discovered that the scrap steel bin is now home to baby fairywrens... Guess thats an excuse to put off emptying it for a bit longer still!

02.01.2022 For all your hay machinery maintenance needs - like when your hay forks are so broken they point back the other way - give me a call!

02.01.2022 Cut a hole into the silo to allow access for cleaning out the base. Angled to prevent grain build up on top, braced for extra support, door designed to push inwards and then be removed through the hole. Practical and neat

02.01.2022 This newly lined dam was sure to be a winner for improving water efficiency, but did create two new issues. A need to centre the foot valve in the dam without puncturing the liner, and the hazard created if somebody was unable to climb out of the dam because of the slippery liner. The ultimate solution was this 28 metre bridge, which Butch and Robyne Smith contracted me to build late last year. It provides easy access to the foot valve so it can be lifted straight up for serv...icing, a ladder reaching down to the water in case someone has fallen in (or just gone for a dip!), and of course a hand rail for safety on the walk out over the water. As well as just looking great! Footings and delivery of bridge sections to site by Hannaford Excavations. Wiring by Faulkner Electrical. Pump plumbing (and bridge design assistance, and the loan of his nearby workshop) by Irri Trader. Bridge fabricated solely by Hepworth Metalworks. Installation by Hepworth Metalworks, Irri Trader, and Butch Smith. Concept by Butch and Robyne Smith!

01.01.2022 Creating catch pens for Newgate horse stud.
