So whether its a visit with a tour guide like me or self driving holiday or a local, please visit this stunning area. They need us to help them recover #HuonValley #DiscoverTasmania

17.01.2022 Out and About, in a few parts! Please share with me beautiful Tasmania and some of my lovely guests

17.01.2022 Received this lovely review on Tripadvisor from a recent guest. Its always great to receive such nice reviews but this one meant that bit more as my guest was a tour guide from interstate. I didnt know until half way through the tour and instantly thought, Oh goodness, no pressure then!!! I spent a day touring the Coal Valley Wine region with Sally and it was honestly one of the best days Ive had. As a solo traveller, I was slightly nervous about being on my own all day bu...t Sally was so warm and welcoming that I was relaxed after a few minutes - it was like having a friend show me all her favourite spots around the wine region. Sally is very knowledgeable, not just about wine but about the history and archetecture of the region. She is a passionate foodie and will gladly share stories about the wonderful people who produce the amazing food and wine available is this magnificent part of the world. The wineries themselves were lovely - all very different but well worth a visit. I highly reccommend anyone visiting this area to get in contact with Sally from Herbaaceous Tours. Thanks Sally! Thank you for such a wonderful review! See more

17.01.2022 Thinking of a holiday in Australia? Well come to Tassie, its officially the countries most welcoming place! https://travel.nine.com.au//australia-most-welcoming-citie

16.01.2022 Received this lovely review on Trip Adviser from one of my guests over the summer. So nice to receive such positive feedback. Well done to Judy S too! "From the time I first contacted Sally to enquire about a tour to the end of our tour the service was magnificent. I would recommend using Sally to organise a tour without reservation. Our tour guide Judy was very knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. I will definitely be contacting Sally again for my next trip."

16.01.2022 Well it may have been a bit f a gray day but that didnt stop my lovely guests from Broken Hill enjoying their trip to Port Arthur. Of course no trip to the Tasman Peninsula would be complete without a stop at Federation Chocolate and the Port Arthur Lavender Farm for morning tea! The trip home is usually through the back roads via Carlton and Lewisham, such a pretty drive. Then we just had enough time for a quick detour to Richmond! #PortArthurLavenderFarm #FederationChocolate #PortArthur #DiscoverTasmania

14.01.2022 A remarkable young man making an incredible product. Congratulations #RyanHartshorn #HartsharonDistillery

12.01.2022 When you come to Tassie for a holiday its easy to be caught up in all the iconic tourism places as there is just so much on offer. However many people are not aware of the beautiful walks in and around Hobart that just take a couple of hours. These photos are of one of these lovely walks, taking in wonderful scenery, sounds of the waves, smell of the bush, and if you are lucky, watching the WedgeTail Eagles soar over the hills (sadly I was so caught up watching I forgot to take a photo!) Try to schedule some quiet time during your trip to just enjoy natures free gifts. This walk is between 7 Mile Beach (near Hobart Airport) to Roaches Beach, a round trip of approximately 7 kilometres. #GreaterHobartTrails #Tasmania

11.01.2022 Nearly time for Dark Mofo, can't wait! It is one of the most amazing events, something for everyone, even the kids!

11.01.2022 Winter is coming!

10.01.2022 So excited today to see this amazing creature at Bonorong, fortunately he/she was just suffering heat stroke so nothing seriously wrong. Not sure exactly what type it was, I think an Erect Crested Penguin but not 100% sure. The pictures are a little blurry as they were taken through the glass at the Bonorong Wildlife hospital #BonorongWildlifeSanctuary #DiscoverTasmania #HappyFeet

08.01.2022 If you are in Tassie, look out for this amazing light show. South of Hobart is usually the best option

08.01.2022 Beautiful Tassie Winter Wonderland. Thank you to all the amazing photographers who shared their stunning photos.

07.01.2022 An absolutely stunning Autumn morning in Hobart on Friday. The harbour was full of boats and ships, Crystal Symphony cruise ship, RV Investigator, Aurora Australus, and towering above all the masts from Aquijo, a 86m ketch costing $112 mil. Oh and did you know you can hire it whilst its in Hobart so of course I did haha

07.01.2022 In Tasmania for a holiday or planning a trip in 2019? There is just so much to see and do. Yes we are famous for our wonderful food and wine, National Parks and clean air but we also have amazing events that you may not know about. Here are a few coming our way in the next few months but also think about downloading the free app so you dont miss out! #Tasmania #DiscoverTasmania #10Days #FringeTasmania #SingTasmania https://www.fringeattheedgeoftheworld.com.au http://tendays.org.au/whats-on/ https://www.whatsonin.com.au/ https://festivalofvoices.com/

07.01.2022 All Good Things Come To An End Well sadly the time has come to hang up the car keys at Herbaceous Tours. Between my ongoing battle with Hodgkins Lymphoma and Covid 19 it really has become apparent that it is time to call a halt on any tours. Once the borders are open and we return to a form of normal make Tasmania the number one spot on your bucket list as there is so much to see and do here. As one guest once said It was the experience of a lifetime. After over 10 years... there are just too many people to thank individually so can I just say a huge thank you to all the farmers , food producers and people in the tourism industry; your passion for what you do and our amazing State has been inspirational! I shall certainly miss visiting you all but hopefully it wont mean the end of the many friendships I have made along the way. If you are thinking of visiting Tassie I can highly recommend the following people to help you plan your holiday; Judy Eye See Personalised Tours 0409487559 Andrew Tassie Tailor Made Tours 0466664466 Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre 03 62384222 I have attached a collage of photos celebrating tours over the past 10 years and will post photos of my own adventures around Tasmania occasionally. 07.01.2022 Did you know there is more going on at Puddleduck Vineyard than just the wine business? They also host a group of model boat enthusiasts every Tuesday, they looked so pretty zooming around the dam on a glorious Autumn day! #Puddleduck #ModelBoats

06.01.2022 Hobart is full of great cafes and restaurants but its amazing what you find if you venture a little way out of the city. Luma is a great little gem of a restaurant situated in the Home Centre, Cambridge complex. Excellent food, friendly and efficient service, one to put on your list. #Luma #CafesTasmania #DiscoverTasmania

06.01.2022 The count down is on, only a few hours to go before the Wooden Boat Festival begins. The harbour is filling up fast with many incredible Tall Ships including the amazing Square Rigged James Craig. https://www.australianwoodenboatfestival.com.au/

06.01.2022 Autumn is such a beautiful season in Tasmania and my guests from Japan loved all the different colours of the trees. We explored the Derwent Valley and Russell Falls and whilst the pictures show the colours I cant share the wonderful earthy smell of autumn so you will just have to use your imagination! #DerwentValley #SalmonPonds #WestawayRaspberryFarm #DiscoverTasmnia

05.01.2022 We are a harbour city so Its really great to see the seaplane back in action! What a wonderful way to view our beautiful harbour! #Tasmania #DiscoverTasmania #HobartCity

04.01.2022 I often post about my guests visits to #Bonorong and obviously I go there a lot. After a long effort of fundraising they finally have their hospital with two dedicated, specially trained part time vets and a vet nurse. Eventually they will have enough money for the vets to be full time. The hospital as been purpose built and they have included a viewing window, you can see in but the animals cant see you. I often go and have a look however one on particular visit I was incre...dibly lucky to actually go in. This time there was nothing "gory" going on, just some maintenance work on a parrot. Now I have to stress that this NOT something guests can do, I was just incredibly lucky to be in the right place at the right time. What you see at #Bonorong is just a fraction of what is actually happening. The animals you see cannot be released (except for the wombats) so #Bonorong is their home however there are a heap of other animals and sea birds who are being nursed and rehabilitated for eventual release. These animals cant be exposed to the public as they need to stay in as "wild" a state as possible and some of them are extremely sick. So next time you visit #Bonorong pop along to the viewing window and you may see these incredibly dedicated vets at work. All and any donations to #Bonorong will be very much appreciated by them as they receive no funding from any source. See more

04.01.2022 Come and join in at one of the best events of the Summer! 04.01.2022 Yet another amazing festival in Tassie, its only on every two years so dont miss out. This one is a lot of fun even if you are not a dedicated sailor! https://www.australianwoodenboatfestival.com.au/

02.01.2022 Its nearly that time again for the fantastic Cygnet Folk Festival. A weekend ticket will give you two and a half days of around 100 acts! Now that is value for money. Or if you dont have two and half days to spare you can get a day ticket. This is one of the best music festivals in Tassie, family friendly and a lot of fun! #DiscoverTasmania #Tamania #FolkFestival2019 https://www.cygnetfolkfestival.org/

01.01.2022 Calling all Gin lovers; this is definitely you dont want to miss! http://ginuaryhobart.com.au/

01.01.2022 One of the best food "shows" in Tasmania. Come on down and help the local producers recover from the bush fires!
