22.01.2022 T20 Blast Cricket Our Junior Cricket Giants will have the opportunity to travel to Tolga at the start of March for the Secondary T20 Blast Cricket. The tournament aims to get students involved with cricket and gives them the opportunity to learn the game. Students have commenced training this week. Good luck

19.01.2022 In May each year, students from all state and non-state schools across Australia participate in testing under the National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). The tests assess the reading, writing, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and numeracy skills of Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 students. In advance of participating in NAPLAN Online, students and parents are invited to use the public demonstration site to familiarise themselves with the type of questions and related functionalities in the NAPLAN Online assessment. The demonstration tests work with many devices and browsers, but not all. 17.01.2022 Herberton State School Cross Country will be held on Monday 29th March at our Primary Campus. Please note, these times in the table below are approximate and may be subject to change if required. If you would like your child to purchase an icy cup, please send them with 50cents on the day. All money raised goes towards Primary Student Council. ... Students should have appropriate footwear and attire (school uniform or house colours) to participate in the Cross Country. We are excited to invite parents back to this event, but it is essential social distancing is followed. Parents are expected to follow the guidelines below: Parents must ensure they stay in the designated seating area provided by the school (located on the hill, adjacent to the oval). Parents must remain 1.5 meters away from other spectators and students. Parents must not attend the school if they are sick. Practice regular handwashing and hand sanitising, particularly before and after eating, and after going to the toilet.

13.01.2022 This term, the Year 4/5 students have been having fun learning about solids, liquids and gases. In Week 6, students conducted an investigation and found that air (gas) takes up space.

12.01.2022 Yesterday the secondary students that were selected to participate in the Marine Studies Extension Program visited the Moore Reef to experience a day in the life of a Marine Biologist. Students would like to thank all involved in making this opportunity available to them.

All returning and new players are encouraged to attend the Wondecla Oval on 20th February at 10am for sign on day. Please bring registering players’ birth certificates. We have a great community of volunteers and a line-up of promising players that need your assistance to keep our great club rolling. We would like to encourage more people to join our dynamic, small network with full training provided. The field is looking better than ever, thanks to the offseason work of Fred Penna and Chantal Kleemann. Thanks to their efforts our club is looking primed for a fantastic season. 03.01.2022 Students in Year 4/5 have been exploring living things. Students conducted a fair investigation to find out how plants grow in different temperatures. One set of seeds were placed in the fridge and one set was placed in the classroom. To make a fair test, it was decided that the plants outside the fridge would need to be covered so that they were also in the dark.
