SHIRLEY BACUS REQUEL LEGASPINO ORCID No. [email protected] Department of Research Mindanao Sanitarium and Hospital College Iligan City EPHRIME METILLO Department of Science and Mathematics Mindanao State University of Iligan Institute of Technology Iligan City, Philippines Abstract - A 73 year old patient, male, residing in Iligan City, Philippines was diagnosed of prostate cancer (Adenocarcinoma,Gleason score 4+3=7) associated with chronic prostatitis after a needle biopsy. Laboratory results showed his tumor markersProstate- Specific Antigen (PSA) was 24.21 ng/ml (normal: 0.0-4.0) and Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA) of 7.21 ng/ml (normal 0.0-3.40). The patient was managed with Alternative Therapeutic Management a Plant Based Diet (no flesh and no drugs), high fiber, raw and cooked vegetables with plenty of fresh fruits juices After a trial of 10 days, the patient’s PSA went down to 5.29 ng/ml and his CEA to 2.21 ng/ ml. Plant Based Diet helps lowers PSA and CEA values in a prostate cancer patient.
