25.01.2022 Dinner at Yat Bun Tong Dumpling House. Colourful and tasty. - Michelle
25.01.2022 Had an amazing dinner tonight at RAKU. This was the first time I've tried the a la carte menu. My friends and I shared some bluefin tuna belly, dragon maki roll, popcorn shrimp, eggplant with red and white miso, scotch fillet, broccoli, and octopus. I was the only one who could fit in dessert, and chose the yuzu and matcha panacotta, which was sublime. - Michelle
24.01.2022 I managed to get out for lunch today, and went to one of my favourites, Madam Lu Malaysian Restaurant, with some friends. It was a noodle popular day, with chicken chow mein, Ipoh hor fun, and char-kway teow. And one Mongolian beef :) I also got a takeaway Hainan chicken rice for later. - Michelle
24.01.2022 On this freezing cold night I'm thinking about the Classic hot chocolate I had at Enigma on the weekend. Very much regretting not buying a bag of their hot chocolate mix so I could enjoy one at home (though I did get a box of truffles to indulge in). - Michelle
24.01.2022 From takeaway fine dining to curbside coffee pickups, we have more than 100 ways to get your local food, wine and shopping fix in the age of social distancing. Supporting Canberra businesses has never been more important.
22.01.2022 Happy Friday, Canberra.
22.01.2022 As far as COVID pivots go, this may just be Canberra’s most impressive. You can now have the full Pialligo Estate experienced delivered, including fruit and vegetables from their Estate and restaurant-quality Heat and Eat meals from their kitchens.
21.01.2022 Did you spend last Saturday sobbing into your stretchy pants, thinking that in a pre-COVID world you would have been at The Forage? Well, the news that one of their faves Fricken is opening permanent digs in Braddon tomorrow, with takeaway available, should help ease the pain.
21.01.2022 Wednesday nights are reserved for Ramen Daddy! The best part? It comes right to your doorstep (oh, and there’s sake!)
19.01.2022 On a cold night and in these uncertain times sometimes you just need comfort food. TUDO Vietnamese Restaurant is one of my go-tos for this, and I had a lovely night catching up with a friend there. What are your comfort foods and restaurants? (Milo on ice cream is a completely acceptable answer) - Michelle
18.01.2022 $10 cocktails in a bag? Live-streamed DJ set? Maybe this stay home thing isn’t so bad after all...
18.01.2022 Explore Canberra’s newest eateries without leaving the couch...
18.01.2022 Lunch at Lion City - Singaporean hawker food in Franklin. Hainan chicken rice, house noodles (dry), wat ton hor, fried wontons and fried chicken. Everything was delicious. They also have lunch specials from 11.30am-2.30pm every day. - Michelle
17.01.2022 Tonight I tried out the new Betty's Burgers & Concrete Co. at Canberra Centre. I'm a fan of their burgers, having been to stores in Sydney and Melbourne, so tonight opted to try some of their new offerings, the Steak Sanga and Noosa Classic Surf. Both were delicious. I also tried the thick cut fries and onion rings, which went well with Betty's Special sauce and sriracha mayo, respectively. To finish up, I had a concrete for the very first time, the chocolate hazelnut donut one. Y.U.M. It's not just about the beef, chicken, and steak though - for those that are vego, vegan, or coeliac, there are options for you on the menu too. If this post has made you hungry, rejoice, because Betty's Bestie Burger Fest begins tomorrow! (aka 2 for 1 burgers - check out their Facebook page for details). - Michelle
15.01.2022 Mmmmmm...cheesy goodness...
15.01.2022 Binge watching Crash Landing on You on Netflix gave me a craving for Korean fried chicken, so I went to KorBq to get a fix. I still want more though, where are your favourite KFC places in Canberra? (or recommendations for other KDramas!) - Michelle
15.01.2022 Deliciously easy weeknight meal, ahoy!
14.01.2022 Cute dogs and truffles, an excellent way to start a winter's day in Canberra. As some of you already know, I love going out to The Truffle Farm, and that's what I did this morning. We learnt about truffles, how best to use them, and the history of the farm, and then got to watch Simba (the dog who hunts for hugs) in action. If you haven't been out there before, it's really informative and good fun. They also have hunt and meal packages if you want to really treat yourself. - Michelle
14.01.2022 Still loving being able to eat out again, tonight at Myanmar Corner in Casey. We had the salt and pepper pork chop and soft shell crab curry specials, and some of our favourites from the usual menu: brown peas wrapped in roti and kaw yay kaut swal (egg noodles with soy duck, fried bread, bean sprouts and Chinese broccoli). We ended with falooda and cassava cake for dessert. - Michelle

13.01.2022 A Michelin-star chef is back in Belco.
12.01.2022 More comfort food, this time at Cân Thô. My friend and I went with the classics, pho and pork chop combination with broken rice. My friend loves prawn toast so we got that as well. Then we went to Goodberry's as my friend had never been before (after 10+ years in Canberra) and wanted to try it. What's on your quintessential Canberra food list? - Michelle
12.01.2022 Make social-distancing delicious. Soi Noodle Bar is one of the many local eateries open right now for takeaway and delivery Want to call ahead for pick up? Call Soi on 6247 0888 from 11 am to 9 pm every dayor you can order dishes like these via UberEATS and Deliveroo
11.01.2022 Oh. My. Milongas. This sweet little parcel came in the mail and opened our eyes to a South American dessert we never knew we needed in our livesuntil now. The milonga is a Canberra-based dessert company that makes these delectable morselsalfajor. Alfajors (al-fa-ho-res) are made by nestling dulce de leche between two shortbread-esque cookies and covering it in milk or white chocolate. Drooling yet? We were.
08.01.2022 Who's missed going out for dinner and a movie? I know I have, so I was really happy to have a lovely dinner at Morning Glory with my friend last week, before we went off to Palace to watch a movie. The bo kho casarecce is my favourite dinner dish there, so I was pleased it was still on the menu. We also had the broccolini and s&s barramundi. - Michelle
08.01.2022 It has been freezing the past few days, but on the plus side, it's perfect weather for warm comfort food - like mud crab! My friends and I indulged in three crabs at Madam Lu Malaysian Restaurant, topping up our meal with combination chow mein and Ipoh hor fun (two of the crabs also came with noodles, so it was a very noodly night). Some of us then finished up with a serve of deep fried ice cream. Next time we're going to try the lobster! - Michelle
08.01.2022 To celebrate Good Food Month, OTIS Dining Hall and Clonakilla Wines have teamed up for a special menu with matched wines ($120pp). My friend and I went tonight, and enjoyed every single bite and drop. I eat at Otis a lot, and this was one of the best meals I've had there. This is only on for the month of March, so make sure you don't miss out! - Michelle
08.01.2022 Get in my belly...
06.01.2022 Have your couch and Chanchito too
06.01.2022 Hot weather? Hot dogs!
06.01.2022 Tried out Biang Biang in Civic today with Foodpornjournal. She got the noodles with beef and I got noodles with tomato, egg, and meat sauce. We also shared a rougamo (pulled pork pastry). We both really enjoyed our noodle dishes but thought the pastry was a little dry for our tastes (it had a good crunch and flakiness though). - Michelle
05.01.2022 Keen for another extended weekend?
05.01.2022 Hi everyone! Now that things are kind of getting back to normal for us in the ACT, we are also getting back to normal on our HC F&D Page. What better way to re-start than with dinner at one of my favourites, Madam Lu Malaysian Restaurant. Props to the staff, who coped really well with an unexpectedly busy night. - Michelle

03.01.2022 Dreaming of a five-star sleep? How about five thousand stars...?
03.01.2022 Had a lovely brunch at Muse - Food, Wine & Books catching up with some friends over brunch. Two of us had the French toast and my other friend got the Sriracha eggs benedict (she took one for the team, we all wanted French toast but there were only two left). It's such a lovely atmosphere in there, especially if you love books. - Michelle

02.01.2022 Hello everyone, I've been a bit quiet as I've been in home isolation for 10 days and counting after going to Indonesia for a family emergency, and haven't had much of an appetite. But now I can eat again, and where I can will be trying to support those local eateries that are able to remain open during these uncertain times. For lunch today I'm about to tuck into some chicken chow mein that I got delivered from Madam Lu Malaysian Restaurant. I hope everyone is taking care, please look after yourselves and your loved ones. - Michelle
