24.01.2022 If you would like to come visit Port Mac for the Easter Training but don’t know where to stay? My friends have spare rooms that are available, just let me know via message and we can chat about what’s available, https://facebook.com/events/s/port-macquarie-easter-training/1493329650815302/?ti=icl

24.01.2022 This camp is turning out to be a ripper. Really excited to team up with some amazing people to bring you a great camp. Charlie Maher, is a legend and will be around our run sessions. He is a proud Indigenous man from Central Australia and he moved to Port Macquarie. He was first Aboriginal to have completed the New York Marathon under the mentorship of Rob De Castella and the Indigenous Marathon Foundation. Since completing the New York Marathon. His life purpose is to inspir...e other Indigenous youth and to help in the efforts towards a reconciled Australia where we can all thrive and be proud of our heritage. Charlie has personally struggled with depression and have found that along with medical, professional help (counselling) and being active through my running he has managed to minimise the effects. He hopes that by being open and honest with his struggles, others feel the strength to reach out and ask for help if they are struggling with depression also. He has founded a local running and walking group with his wife to encourage and support families to participate and lead healthy lifestyles. I believe in the power of role modelling good behaviour and for Indigenous youth to have role models they can look to in all fields, wether it be sport, business, education etc. What a great person to have around during the Easter Camp. Spaces are limited and you can confirm your spot by donating the camp cost to Tour De Cure - the charity that I am supporting. I want a world without cancer. https://www.tourdecure.com.au/profile/

23.01.2022 Hit the Trifecta this weekend at the Surf Life Saving NSW #countrychampionships #mysurflife A good coach does not necessarily have to race but I love to race so I get to feel what could go through an athletes head, what decisions need to be made, how the proceeds is executed and I do just love to race. However, racing with very little specific training for surf life saving equals a very sore and tired body. A great reminder that training specificity is an important aspect o...f training for the body’s performance and its recovery! Straight off to the massage tent tonight! Gold 2km beach run Silver Rescue Tube Bronze Ocean swim 4th board rescue 7th Taplin Competed in Open swim teams My son and daughter raced as well with my daughter and I racing together in the Surf Teams, Loved the competition and seeing so many families just loving the outdoors and all that it offers,

19.01.2022 There are just some people that you just have to meet. You will be a better person for it. This camp is just a must, even if it is just so you can meet and train with Michelle. I am super excited to say that Michelle Ferris will be joining us over Easter. There is so much to say about her and there is so much you can learn from her. She is an Olympic Medalist, Master World Champion, Liv Giant Ambassador, mum. She has been at the top of her sport but has also had to battle and... overcome many things including walking away from sport for many years. Now though, she has an amazing, inspiring story of strength and self-empowerment. She has a passion to teach/coach and show you everything there is to love about cycling. I love watching her coach. She really wants you to learn and be the best you can be. We are limiting numbers so you get the best experience from the weekend and all you have to do is donate to my page at Tour De Cure $300 and the spot is yours.

18.01.2022 No cycle racing outside..... so let's move it inside! Port Macquarie Cycle Club first E-Race on Zwift today in a Meet Up. It was super fun and more smiles (and maybe a bit more sweat) than the Ocean Swimming in the morning. Iain McGregor champion for suggesting it and glad I could help with set up. I had a super fun time watching you all race and providing commentary while I pottered around at the back of the race. Lets all find ideas that keep us connected with people.

16.01.2022 An amazing story. It’s a great read to see what we did and didn’t know about all things endurance sport. The 1904 Olympic marathon may have been the dumbest race ever run http://www.abc.net.au//the-wildest-olympic-event-/12467362

15.01.2022 Thank you Heather for your kind donation and can’t wait to see you at Easter, Thank you to everyone that has donated so far and have confirmed their attendance at the Easter training camp. We can make a difference by just doing what we love. How good is that! This pic is from the tour de cure website. ... Book your spot by donating $300 to: https://www.tourdecure.com.au/profile/

15.01.2022 Def a page to like. Guaranteed to make you smile, laugh and find inspiration. We will all need joy I’m this uncertain time, coachmel

14.01.2022 Today ended an incredible program. Over the last 8 weeks I have had the joy of meeting, getting to know a great group of athletes. 28 beautiful people signed up to the Cantoo 10 week ocean swim program. We have had to unfortunately finish up early with COVID 19 taking over the world. Many would have classed themselves as non-swimmers. One person Could not stand up confidently in the water A few breastrokers that thought they would never swim freestyle. A few thinking they ...would never get in the ocean: fearful of waves, marine life and not understanding rips/currents. A few that wanted to be fitter and improve their technique, They all wanted a group that was fun and supportive, a group that celebrated achievements and didn’t judge, a group that is committed to helping others and raising money for cancer research. There is so so so much to love about his incredible group of humans, and so many stories, I think I will do a series of articles as there is so much to learn from their journey, The ocean is a magical place and if you understand it, get fit and find your tribe you will soar, Thank you to my wonderful coach Paige. Sharon, Phil, Craig, Peter, monika, Kieren, Murray, Anthony, port Macquarie cadets, james, Zach , alani and the list of helpers continue. And to Cantoo team in Sydney who said Yes to me coaching this wonderful pod: Penny, Peter, Anne, Claire, Robyn. And to my brilliant team of Michael and Janie and Sandra. And the water safety! Omg superstars! We had a couple in the pod and support from surf clubs and their members, the team grew in skills and confidence because of these wonderful people. We are sad that we couldn’t celebrate with our goal race (balmoral ocean swim) and we are sad that the program was cut short, but we understand. We want to live in a world that is great, a healthy world and a world without cancer. This is the end of one chapter but the start of a brilliant novel of more swimming, more learning, life long friendships and continuing to support researchers to find cures.

13.01.2022 What an amazing thing to do for these athletes. Maybe take some time out of your day to flick one of your heros a message to let them know we are thinking about them. https://www.youtube.com/watch

09.01.2022 I have been thinking this last few days how I can help people get through this crisis that is just incomprehensible. So many lives impacted. our way of life completely changed for the moment. I have been thinking thinking and this is what I have developed. 04.01.2022 Ever feel like you are way out of your comfort zone???? ...... well I have just myself into a situation which is exciting yet very intimidating. I wonder whether this is what it feels like for kids going in their first race? Or adults for that matter. Putting myself in situations where I am not confident in my ability is super super tough and I say hats off to everyone that does this. Congrats to everyone that gets out there. I can’t fail. But I can underperform if I let ...it all get to me. I have to really think about what my strengths are and nail those as in the overall scheme of things I will be playing in the back of the pack. And I think that’s great. So for anyone out there that is at the back of the pack, please feel proud that you are out there, set yourself a target to get the best from yourself. That is just as good an achievement as someone who gets a podium. I think I just want to say no matter where you are in the field, you have every right to be there. We need to celebrate everyone and their performances. Do what am I doing? I am competing on Zwift E-racing. Since July last year the Aussie Hump Day Ride (AHDR) ladies have a race team, colourfully nicknamed 'The Purple Armada'. The Purple Armada has been invited to join the reminding ProAm Invitational stages of the Tour de Zwift race. For the 3rd stage, the Purple Armada will be represented by Sophie, Michelle, Nathalie, Fran and myself. Next week other riders will come and play. You will be able to see our Purple Ladies in action from your cosy beds on https://www.zwift.com/video/tour-de-zwift-live at 6.15am Monday, Coachmel

03.01.2022 PRIME7 News North Coast thanks Samantha Crowe for giving people an insight on how we can use technology to stay connected with our local community. Loved chatting to some member of our local cycling community last Saturday with some serious fun racing. I was glad I was just providing the commentary as the racing was hard and fast. Super fun. 01.01.2022 I loved these 3 ABC words today: Act - Belong - Commit 3 ingredients to keeping yourself mentally healthy. Act now and join my team as I show you what to do at home cycling, strength and running. I will help you understand all the numbers on Zwift (Cycling), help you master your body movement and build your body's resilience so you are strong when you start doing cardio again - reducing your chance of injury next season. ... Belong to a great community of other like minded individuals during this difficult and testing time. Commit to keeping Active and healthy. Its super hard I know when every day is unknown. I will help you learn to live in the moment and focus on your health. Starting from tomorrow for a week I will have a series of free sessions and if you like it you can sign up for the next few months as we learn to be active in our own home and neighbourhood https://forms.gle/N22McUNzBXaS4nwQ8

01.01.2022 Sometimes we meet people in our lives that change us forever. My daughter Alani Cockshutt is one of these people - and it is more than just being my daughter. Tomorrow we are about to embark on an adventure. Riding indoors on a trainer up a Mountain (Alpe Du Zwift) 8.5 times to climb the equivalent of Mt Everest (8848m). It will take us 12-14 hours (or maybe more). If you do have Zwift come and join us (On Road to Sky) anytime from 7am AEST Time Sunday 12 July. We know that... cancer patients have to climb Mt Everest during treatment on so many levels. We will be raising funds for Tour De Cure (Me) and Starlight Foundation (Alani) and we will be thinking of all of you as we climb. We know cancer treatment sux at the best of times and to have to go through it during COVID Pandemic is just horrific. Just know we are thinking of you and sending you the best vibes we can. We will be live streaming the event and will post the link tomorrow. If you can join us please do, drop in if you live in Port Macquarie and most important call a friend or family member that has been through (or is going through) cancer treatment just to say hi.
