25.01.2022 Introducing 'walk' to our psychology offering - a new appointment type where you can head into the surrounding green space, strolling outdoors with one of our psychologists, mindfully walking and continuing the conversation in our open natural environment. Inspired by the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku (forest bathing), walk will immerse you in nature. Doing just this can have significant benefits to your mental and physical health. It lowers stress by switching off the sy...mpathetic nervous system (fight or flight) and brings on a state of relaxation by activating your parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest). If you want to take a walk with us please get in touch, we’re here to help. #slowlydoesit

20.01.2022 minimal mondays. This week we’re travelling to Norway. This little cabin designed by @morkulnesarchitects and captured beautifully here by @brucedamonte can be found hiding in a pine forest just outside Oslo. Known as the Mylla Hytte, its exterior is clad with untreated pine that will capture stories as it ages with each passing season. #slowlydoesit

12.01.2022 Hey Team, We’re super excited to announce that the here. studio is now back open. We’re sure you’ll agree, the past few months has been quite different for all of us. It’s been a time full of challenges but this in turn has provided welcome opportunity to reflect, connect with our families and innovate.... Thank you to the countless people who wrote in with kind words of support during this time. It’s been just lovely and given us moments of joy when they were needed. We are so happy to be reopening our doors and bringing our little community back together again. We’ve missed you! To keep you safe, things will look a little different when you visit us next. From tomorrow we’ll be running a growing timetable of classes. For your safety and to meet the current social distancing requirements we need to limit classes to 13 participants. As a result we’ll only be taking bookings via casual class passes and ten passes. If you’ve got a weekly direct-debit membership or a 6 month up-front membership that’s currently on pause, please hold tight, as soon as the distancing restrictions are lifted we’ll be in touch to reactivate them If you had a casual pass or ten pass sitting on you account, this has already been reactivated and an extra 6 months added to its expiry date. We’re now also taking bookings for face to face appointments for massage, psychology and physiotherapy with our team of awesome clinicians. Skype appointments are still available and will remain available in the foreseeable future too Bookings can be made online or via email to [email protected] We’d like to remind you to kindly not enter the studio if you have any cold or flu-like symptoms. Our booking system helps us keep an attendance record and this may be used for contact tracing purposes if required. Hands are being washed or sanitised upon entry and exit from the studio, and we’ve doubled down on our mat sanitisation too. For greetings, please no handshakes or hugs. Peace signs, on the other hand, are definitely acceptable and will be reciprocated. Please reach out with any questions or feedback. We can’t wait to see you all! Charlie, Andy and the here. team xo

08.01.2022 It’s amazing how quickly you can feel uneducated. What we do know is that there is no room for racism in this world we all share. This week we are taking the time to listen and learn - and become more educated about a matter that truly matters. #amplifymelanatedvoices

06.01.2022 A plane, a plane, another plane, a bus, a car, and you’re there. Far away. In the middle of nowhere. Nowhere being everywhere to you, exactly where you want to be. Arriving at midnight to a full moon and distant silhouetted mountain range, glowing peeks, blueish white. It’s mid-autumn. They must be glaciers. You can’t wait to look up and out as soon as you wake in the morning. You wake to space, upon space, upon space at the tippy bottom of the earth. Wild, remote, hyper sea...sonal. You’re here. Hola. Hola, paradise... Join us over at slowly.com.au (link in bio) to take a mindful wander through the stunning landscape that is Patagonia with local legend @leantimms as your tour guide. Journey #001 is live now and free to access for all. Allow your brain a few calming moments to travel, arrive and simply be present in this beautiful environment - it will thank you afterwards. #slowlydoesit

06.01.2022 Today is for all the mums out there, though in reality, one day isn’t enough to say thanks for all that you do. To this particular mummy, thank you for your unwavering love. You are the glue that holds our little family together. A rocker of worlds, a babe of dreams, we love you @andymurray.insta

06.01.2022 It’s no great surprise that the prevalence of mental health issues among our population both globally and here in Australia is on the rise. This year has thrown more than enough curveballs at all of us and these will have a natural tendency to increase our brain and body’s stress levels. Thankfully we’re also seeing an increasing acceptance of these issues among our society both in parliament and within our more local communities. The Federal Government recently doubled the n...umber of rebatable psychology sessions (now up to twenty sessions are accessible each year) and maybe it’s just the socials we follow, but we’ve noticed an anecdotal increase in the number of posts encouraging people to check in with others during this time. But getting a real answer out of someone when you ask how are you going? can be harder than you think. The question is often asked merely as a greeting and usually offered a reply of equal nonchalance so as to never uncover any underlying truth to a person’s state of wellbeing. As a society we need to encourage authentic discussion of our wellbeing and it can start with you. So how can you broach this topic more mindfully? We love the ‘double take’ method. Ask it once how are you?, let the inevitable pleasantries play their due course, then simply repeat it a second time and how are you really?. The response you receive will likely be quite different and can open up an opportunity to make a genuinely positive impact to someone else’s life. Your challenge for today is to pick one person and ask them how they are. Twice. #slowlydoesit

We see your typical week looking like this: 30% administration and hosting - front of house - studio phone calls - studio emails - receiving payments - client scheduling - class timetabling and covering - cleaning and light duties 30% marketing and communications, content creation and community engagement - execution of mailchimp and social campaigns - content creation through any of: photography, videography, copywriting, graphic design - event planning and coordination 30% business strategy, development and lead generation - sales strategy development (at individual and corporate levels) - initiate new leads - facilitation of external brand collaborations 10% team management - internal staff communications - internal cultural development - input into new hires It’s a full time role at around 40hours/week paid at 55K-75K/annum depending on experience and performance. 01.01.2022 This time is unusual, and some of you may be feeling a little stuck (physically and emotionally). You can’t go out to your usual haunts, you can’t meet up with your usual friends in the typical way, and maybe you can’t even do your usual work either. But can we reframe this unusual situation into a different, more positive light? What if we flipped it? What if instead of being stuck, you are being handed the perfect chance to slow down, on a platter, and it’s yours for the t...aking. This is a special opportunity for connection, for self-care and for re-evaluating the things that are truly important in your life. Don’t let it pass you by. - A little excerpt from our latest read on slowly.com.au by the delightful @leantimms #slowlydoesit

01.01.2022 Welcome to the team Matty. We’ve always been strong believers that yoga is for everyone, no matter what your physicality, ability or flexibility may look like. There’s lots of people out there who can teach a solid yoga class, but what we look for in our team goes far beyond the basics of asanas and breath. It’s that ability to hold you present for the entire class and allow you to truly belong in the space that resonates far more deeply with us. Our studio is a place without... ego, where anyone is welcome to join. So come as you are and leave a little slower. If you want to catch a class with Matty he’s teaching alternate Saturdays at 7:30am and also has a new flow dropping on slowly.com.au tonight #slowlydoesit
