The issue is affecting payments via the NPP, digital wallet registrations, and the ability to mark cards as lost or stolen via internet banking. 15.01.2022 Criminals find creative ways to hide and move money they’ve obtained illegally by scamming people (known as ‘money mules’), into moving the money for them through fund transfers, physical movement of cash, and more. Heritage is supporting a worldwide campaign to help warn people of the dangers of being a Money Mule. Allowing others to use your bank account or conducting financial transactions on behalf of someone else not only puts your financial security at risk and compromises your personal information, it’s also a crime. #DontBeAMule #EMMA6

14.01.2022 ** 2021 HERITAGE BANK CALENDARS NOW AVAILABLE ** In 2021 we reach 40 years of our much-loved Heritage Bank calendars! And featuring on the milestone calendar for 2021 is a 137-year-old home in Ipswich! The two-storey home in Quarry Street has a colourful history, originally built as the Congregational Church manse, before being converted into flats in the 1930s and then a private home in 1977. For four decades we’ve showcased some of Queensland’s finest historic homes on a... calendar. And thanks to your generosity we’ve raised more than $330,000 for worthy charities. Copies of the calendar are now available at any of Heritage’s branches for a gold coin donation. The charities that will benefit from the monies raised in 2021 are women’s support service Protea Place in Toowoomba, Little Haven Palliative Care in Gympie and Paradise Kids children’s support service on the Gold Coast. It features Heritage Bank branding and says your account has been locked and asks you to click on a link to regain access. Clicking on the link takes you to a fake website and asks you to share personal information such Heritage member numbers, passwords and contact details. Important: If you have received this email, please DELETE it. ...DO NOT click on any links or share any personal information, even if it appears to be from Heritage Bank. Contact Heritage Bank immediately on 13 14 22 if you have received this scam email and clicked ‘Verify now’ and entered any personal information. 10.01.2022 This year has been a year like so no other, and we’re really proud to see our team be there for our members day after day. To say thank you, our Senior Executive team donned some aprons and put their cooking skills on display with a BBQ at our Toowoomba headquarters. Our amazing branch and office teams who weren’t able to attend held their own celebrations as part of the fun. Joining us were at the BBQ were special guests from food rescue organisation OzHarvest. They rescue ...surplus food from commercial outlets and deliver this good food, at no cost, to charities who feed those in need. In exciting news, OzHarvest Toowoomba recently boosted its food rescue and food relief services in Greater Toowoomba from two days a week to five days a week! Our team had the chance to chat with the OzHarvest crew and learn more about what they do, and also sample some recipes to reduce food wastage like barbecued cauliflower leaves could be a new BBQ favourite! Heritage is supporting two great Christmas Appeals with our branches acting as collection points. If you can, we'd love you to join us in the spirit of giving by filling a bag with non-perishable food and personal items to help brighten Christmas those in need. TREES OF HOPE APPEAL Pick up a Trees of Hope bag from Heritage Gympie or #SunshineCoast branc...hes Caloundra, Kawana, Maroochydore, Nambour, Noosa and Palmwoods. Fill the bag and return it to the branch before 14 December so they can be distributed to households in need in time for Christmas. 07.01.2022 BEWARE OF COLD CALL SCAMMERS A reminder to remain on the lookout for scammers as we head into the busy festive season. We’re aware that some members have received cold calls from people claiming to be from Heritage Bank, or other well-known companies, and suggesting there is an issue with your account. It’s all to trick you into sharing personal information, providing remote access to your computer, or transferring money in order to fix the ‘issue’.... What if I receive a call? If in doubt HANG UP even if they mention a well-known company. Under NO circumstances withdraw funds from your account based on information from a cold call. ALWAYS check the authenticity of any call or email. Call Heritage Bank or the company mentioned back directly to check if it is genuine or not. DO NOT engage in conversation or provide any personal or sensitive information to the caller. NEVER allow someone remote access to your computer. If you have provided sensitive information, it’s very important you change ALL your Heritage Online passwords and call us immediately on 13 14 22. If a scammer have accessed your computer remotely you should ensure that your computer is professionally cleaned by a reputable technician to ensure there is no malware on your system.
