Each week the money allows us to order extra organic produce to take to the support centre where its distributed by case managers to those most in need.

11.01.2022 Like everyone, stage 4 has brought about lots of changes for us. Emotionally, and as a family, we are finding this lock down much harder than the last. For the farm, it's more big changes, before we were ready for them. But when I weigh up our convenience, vs the health crisis we are trying to prevent- I feel lucky to be part of a community that is coming together, and supporting each other. And privileged that we can help to support others. We are an essential service under ...the new rules, but we are making big changes anyway. Health is our first priority. Always. So: -Our farm gate is closed until further notice, now only open by appointment. -We are extending our delivery runs to include all of our existing customers that were picking up from our farm gate. That includes: Balnarring, Balnarring Beach, Bittern, Hastings, Somers, Somerville and Tyabb. Right now, we are making these runs at a loss, and we'll keep doing it, because we've made a commitment to our customers, and because the vegetables they're eating are already grown in the fields. We need another 10 boxes in these suburbs to get the run to break even, so please consider trying us out if you can. -We are all wearing masks: all the time, sanitising everything: all the time, filling in lots of paperwork: COVIDsafe plan and worker permits, staggering lunch breaks, safe distances at the propagating bench, veggie washing bench, and when weeding and when working with other organic farms. -Finally, we're a farm. We might be cold, and refusing to turn on heaters, and you might see a bit of ankle on my son these days, as he grows faster than I can keep up with. But one thing that our family won't be through all of this, is hungry. That's not the case for everyone. We donate produce to vulnerable local people every week through our community boxes, and we'll continue to do so, as long as we keep farming. But if you're someone who is hungry, if you've found yourself falling through the cracks in this state of emergency, then contact us. Message us, call us, email us. Whatever is most convenient, and you find most comfortable. We want to get through this together, and that means giving where we can. Stay safe Peninsula, and just as importantly, stay kind.
