20.01.2022 Beautiful grafted flowering gums are finally back! We have Red, Dwarf Red, Dwarf Orange and Pink available. Do yourself and our bees a favour they are perhaps one of the prettiest feature trees available. Some grow as small as 3m maximum and can be pruned to stay smaller. All they need is well drained soil and plenty of sunshine #floweringgum #graftedgum #australiangardens

17.01.2022 Passionfruit season! Even with limited space in your garden, passionfruit can be a great crop to grow at home, along fence lines, up a vertical trellis, or over pergolas or chicken pens. We are selective with our varieties to ensure they are best suited to this area and to ensure they won't sucker in your garden. Grafted black & panama red are great varieties now available. Vines have a productive lifespan of 3-5 years at which stage they then usually need to be replaced. They need well drained soil and plenty of direct sun. When planting add 5in1 compost to the soil, and then feed regularly with liquid potash to promote the flowering & fruit. #growyourownfood #passionfruit #passionfruitflower #homegardening

16.01.2022 Who is gardening this warm & sunny long weekend? #perfectcombo No filter needed for this gorgeous ground cover It is called Calibrachoa and is available in a variety of colours such as white, purple, pink & yellow. They are fantastic planted in pots and hanging baskets due to their cascading nature. I have used it here as a border edging plant shown in this photo. I had completely forgotten it was there through winter, until it bursts into Spring flowers which will continue (with liquid feeding) for the next 6 months. One of my favourites. It has reminded me to plant some more!

11.01.2022 A show of hands please, who is a self confessed crazy indoor plant person and proud of it? We have gone a tad indoor plant crazy this week! So many goodies on offer from Hoyas, calatheas, ferns, chain of hearts, chains of pearls and tears, to huge Zanzibar’s, flowering peace lilies, and double planted fiddle leaf figs just to name a few. Indoor plants can drastically change the look of a room while improving wellbeing. It’s a win win Feel free to tag your crazy plant friends too
11.01.2022 Jacaranda trees are in full bloom. My husband struggles with the so called mess they make dropping their purple flowers, whereas I see it as a little bit magical.... Who else is enjoying time in their garden this weekend? A few hours of work can be so rewarding, I love the feeling of sitting back and admiring our work. Now is really the time to be freshening up your garden mulch ready for Summer, feeding your garden if you haven’t already this Spring, and adding pops of c...olour and texture to your garden to create dimension. Have a lovely day outside in this mild weather On a side note how adorable is Muffin the cat! #loveyourgarden

05.01.2022 Calling horticultural experts We are looking for an experienced & qualified horticulturist to join our team. Is this you?
05.01.2022 Crepe Myrtles must be one of my favourite trees. They are so versatile, they suit small residential blocks, feature trees in the backyard, street planting, or even avenue planting for driveways. They provide the longest stretch of flowering of any tree, and flower for approximately 1/3 of the year and then have gorgeous Autumn colour. They are well suited to our region as they tolerate our hot and dry climate through Summer. These days there are so many varieties available including shrub forms, smaller growing tree forms, up to 6m tall feature varieties. Chat to our horticulturists for any help selecting the right one for you. These inspo are via Pinterest
05.01.2022 Does anyone else feel like making school holiday snacks is an endless exercise? We have you covered with our adorable kids picnic boxes. Relax with a coffee, wander the nursery and kids will be chuffed with one of these
03.01.2022 Hydrangea Season They will flower in your garden from mid October until end of December. So many people tell me that they remind them of their grandmothers garden. I am a huge fan of hydrangeas, any spare space I will happily add another. There are many varieties these days including repeat flowering ones called the Endless Summer collection. The ideal position is morning sun and afternoon shade, or even dappled sunlight all day. ... Personally I also love having them inside the house while they are flowering. They are so much cheaper than a bunch of fresh flowers and last almost 10 times as long if they have plenty of natural light. Then find a position under a tree and plant it ready for next season. Every colour and variety are now in store and in flower and bud. #hyrdrangea #australiangardens #gardeningaustralia #shadelovingplants #hydrangeaseason #hydrangeasofinstagram #gardeningismytherapy #mrkitly
02.01.2022 Just when we think this seasons lavender can’t get any prettier, standard lavenders roll in So unique, pretty & well suited to our hot dry summers. Italian, French & Spanish lavenders suit our climate. There are many hybrid varieties which stay compact in the garden. And a bonus is the bees love them too #lovelylavender #princesslavender #thequeenlavender #fairywingslavender #australiangardens #loveyourgarden #beeattractingflowers
01.01.2022 Standard roses; a great way of adding height and layering in the garden. They flower repeatedly throughout the year, this particular variety is the floribunda Iceberg (brilliant pink) and they bud again immediately after the previous flush with a light tip prune, so I feel like they are continually a mass of flowers. They need full sun, regular feeding and some pruning, but well worth the effort and give plenty of regards Standard icebergs are available in white, brilliant pink (pictured), burgundy & blush pink.
