14.01.2022 Sadly we are no longer at this establishment. After a disgusting display of abuse from the manager and a barman who constantly was rude to our customers, our staff and advised locals not to eat at the Heritage Kitchen. After taking over the lease in May 2016 the kitchen had been closed for 3 months. We had to start from sctrach. With all eateries you will have unhappy customers at some stage.... We tried our best with the small kitchen that we had and the constant breakdown of cookery items. The owners of this hotel do not fix any thing in the kitchen area which is a disgrace to say the least. Our staff did the best with the outdated items to use. If you think the main bar is derrilict then the kitchen is worse. We are now at Cringila Hotel. Come visit you will be pleasantly suprised. A clean and refreshing hotel and a great new menu. See more
13.01.2022 1906: Now that the holidays are close upon us,it becomes a very important question where to spend them, and as New South Wales offers so many places of interes...t, one is somewhat puzzled. I consider that the most suitable place for a month’s holiday is Bulli, which is a picturesque little town, 42 miles from Sydney, on the South Coast, and situated at the foot of the Illawarra Range. It is of easy access, either by rail, steamer, or ,road. By rail is the most convenient and comfortable way, because you get a better view of the country as the train passes along Too much cannot be said of the beauties.of Bulli. It is the ideal spot for those who are in need of a thoroughly good holiday, and the cost is small considering the vast amount of pleasure and benefit which one obtains. The expenses for a week would be about 3, namely, train fare 5 shillings (second class), board 1, 10 shillings, sight-seeing and incidentals 1, 5 shillings, total 3. 12.01.2022 WHAT'S THE BEST BEACH IN WOLLONGONG FOR A BEACH CLUB? Wollongong City Council has voted eight to three in favour of a motion to begin the process of estab...lishing a beach club in Wollongong. The council will assess all 17 of its patrolled beaches for a suitable venue, due to a number of constraints around the original proposed location of North Wollongong beach. A report will be submitted next April and if green lit, a trial could go ahead as early as summer 2020 / 2021. Wollongong Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery voted against the plan claiming it's a poor use of Council's resources. The Moseley Beach Club

06.01.2022 THREATENED with demolition during the 1990s, and described by the hopeful developer at the time as worthless of preservation, the Balgownie Hotel, through a con...certed community effort, survived to celebrated 100 years of trade in 2004. Balgownie Hotel, just north of Wollongong in NSW, was designed by architect Alex Elphinstone and built for Francis Caldwell in 1904, providing a social and sporting home to many of the village’s coal miners. 03.01.2022 IT’S not widely known that a Wollongong born cop was involved in the capture of the notorious Australian bushranger Captain Moonlite. A real unsung hero, Consta...ble Alexander Barry has largely been forgotten by the people of the Illawarra for his part in the capture of New South Wales’ last professional bushranger. Andrew George Scott, alias Captain Moonlite, went to the gallows at Darlinghurst Gaol on the morning of January 20 1880 for his leadership of the Wantabadgery Bushrangers, who terrorised the Wagga Wagga region.
