25.01.2022 Thanks to Brenton Sutton Landscapes for getting me in to build a recycled Toowoomba Basalt fireplace feature wall for a stunning new home being built by Tim & Kerri Emmert Builders at Hampton

24.01.2022 This week I completed an amazing commission for St.Marys Parish School in Goondiwindi. I would like to thank Karra Suhr and Brett Pollard who asked me to provide a concept and then to sculpt a modern representation of the traditional figure of Mother Mary. My main objective for the sculpture of Mother Mary was to create a sculptural piece that would interact and resonate within the school community. The statue has soft undefined facial features to allow the students to see Mary as soft, welcoming, caring and providing protection. Thanks again to St.Marys Parish School for allowing me to be a part of their community.

24.01.2022 Cold winters and cold nights are no more at Kyle Wagner and Brittany Wagner with some new tiles under the fireplace with the sharp edges curved and then hand polished to make it safe for the kids and prevent stubbed toes! thanks again for the work guys

22.01.2022 Restoring memorials leaves you with a great sense of humbleness not only because you have been entrusted by families to complete a restoration and return the memorial to how they may remember their family member but also as a time for reflection. The work that goes into these projects is generally done over many days on your knees in quietness and solitude and then with not much more then effort and determination the memorials begin to show their true beauty once again for everyone to see, a bit like watching a flower bloom or your family grow. My thanks to the Sleba and Coorey families for making me part of the journey

22.01.2022 What a terrific week designing and building random sandstone retaining walls for Alysa & Doug at their lovely new home. With a bit more rain around recently the walls were perfectly timed to stop the yard washing away and theyll look fantastic once the new tank, lawn and gardens are established as well as adding real value to their beautiful new home.

21.01.2022 This is a restoration job with an extreme twist, when Kristine OConnor phoned me about restoring her mums memorial in Roma I have to admit that it took me about a week to get my head around what had occurred when she told me the story and sent some photos to show me what had happened. Rewind to the Roma Police report. Dangerous driving charge, Roma myPolice on Mar 29, 2019 @ 2:30pm ... Police have charged an alleged drink driver after a vehicle was driven through a cemetery causing extensive damage in Roma early this morning. Officers were called to Lewis Street around 3.30am following reports a vehicle had crashed through a fence and travelled about 40 metres into the cemetery. As a result of the incident, 20 grave sites were destroyed, causing more than $20,000 in damage. The female driver was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The 31-year-old woman has been charged with one count each of dangerous driving while affected by an intoxicating substance, driving under the influence of liquor, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and driving without a licence. She is due to appear in the Roma Magistrates Court on May 25. So, back to the restoration. The memorial was totally destroyed when the car LANDED on it and moved it 150mm forward. All two and a half tonnes of it. Kristine asked if we could use any parts of the old memorial so we recycled/repaired the bottom kerbs and replaced all the sandstone ledgers and headstone then cleaned and repainted the inscriptions on her mum and then her dads memorial right next to it. I was really happy with the end result and very Grateful to Kristine for using our services under such an upsetting set of circumstances for the family.

20.01.2022 It was a lovely day in Brisbane at the historic Balmoral Cemetery helping Go Stone with some of their jobs, thanks Go Stone and Alan Wagner

20.01.2022 2019 went right to the end with some beautiful sandstone tiled columns in an outdoor entertaining area/carport/utility room for Taddio Building Group on behalf of Ian & Ann Ryan, happy new year and thanks for using Heritage Stonecraft & Design

18.01.2022 With the schools starting to reopen soon we were happy to be able to help out St.Saviours Primary School in Toowoomba to transform a crumbling retaining wall into a safe area for the kids and their wonderful teachers to use and enjoy, thank you from Heritage Stonecraft & Design

18.01.2022 Lest we forget. Remembrance day. The Australian Digger memorial has long been an integral part of our close knit communities who gather around these centerpiece memorials to honour and remember loved ones who gave freely so that we could enjoy the freedoms that they wished for. I would count these statues that I have hand carved as probably my finest work and I am humbled that I have been able to do these projects that form the basis of our wonderful memorials throughout the community.

17.01.2022 I am really proud when a memorial captures and shows the love that a family has for their someone special.....

17.01.2022 Absolutely stunning day in Dalby this week working for the Western Downs Regional Council supplying and installing a brand new dedication plaque for the Mercy Bridge after the original was found to be damaged, thanks to the team at WDRC

16.01.2022 I found out recently just how the corona virus can affect simple things that we take for granted. A lovely lady, Liz Herbert from Sydney asked me to make a new memorial plaque for her mum and dad so she and her sisters could dedicate it and celebrate what would have been her dads 100th birthday on the 28th of March in Toowoomba. Enter the travel restrictions and what should have been a memorable day is lost to the family, there was not much more that we could do other than pop into the cemetery on the 28th and wish John a happy birthday from us......

15.01.2022 From little things big things grow...... heres hoping, our first order, an additional inscription at Clifton cemetery finished for Toowoomba Regional Council, a great team to work with and the start of a long and happy business relationship.

13.01.2022 Thanks to GDLM Landscape Management for engaging me to build beautiful freestanding garden/stair walls using natural Stanthorpe granite field stone complete with lichen. The natural beauty of the granite blended perfectly to the Mt. Cootha/Barden escarpment gardens of Annemaree and Andrew Farr. thanks again for choosing Heritage Stonecraft to be involved in your project.

13.01.2022 It was nice to work closely with a family to create a very special customised memorial for a young man who was taken too soon...

13.01.2022 Perfect weather for a fire pit......

11.01.2022 Over the last few weeks I have been privileged to meet and work for Multicultural Australia and the Ezidi refugee community here in Toowoomba, this community fled their own country after the genocide in 2014 and have started again in a new country with absolutely nothing. It was a very humbling experience to create the memorial for one of their elders and I was continually amazed at their kindness and compassion even after everything they have been through, I enjoyed learning about their culture and history. thank you Nawaf and Saad, God Bless.

07.01.2022 Woohoo Wednesday...!!!! this humble little crate is our first commercial order of granite Memorial Lawn Bases and vases delivered today to the Toowoomba Regional Council for use in their seven local cemeteries. Thanks to a fantastic team at TRC Cemeteries for the order and the opportunity.

04.01.2022 Renovations complete!! hard works over, time for a swim..... absolutely stunning pool and views from Neil Owens thoroughbred stud at Southbrook. The poor old pool coping needed a bit of work but it was certainly worth it to restore it to its former glory, thanks Neil it was a pleasure.

02.01.2022 Plenty of variety this week.... a very busy week finished off on a 2800mm diameter sandstone saw blade in one of the Helidon quarries. Started with stripping the old segments, a tension check on the steel behemoth and then brazing the new segments on, good for another 5000m2 of cutting Id reckon.....

02.01.2022 It is a very special moment when you are asked by a family to build a memorial for someone special in their life that they have lost, it is a very personal journey and one that I am very proud to be involved in. Thank you to the Collins family for allowing me to be a part of their journey.
