19.01.2022 HTAA IS COMING OUT OF HIBERNATION! It has been decided to take a slow and careful approach to our return to the new normal as there is still that risk of the second wave. As mentioned in the May/June Heritage Hauler, we will be holding a General Meeting on Tuesday, 21 July commencing 7pm in the larger room (next door to the Margaret Bryant room).... As a Club we must keep in mind and remember to adhere to all the advice around hand hygiene, social distancing and group gatherings. You have a part to play in this too. Please make sure you socially distance, follow hygiene directions and most of all, ensure that gatherings which breach the limits and guidelines do not occur. If you are not feeling well, be responsible and stay at home. If you wish to attend, please advise Phyllis on 0417 002 386 so that we can plan the room setting. You will be required to sign in, so if you could remember to bring your own pen, then this would be helpful. Thanks and look forward to seeing you.

18.01.2022 Rollin to Rocklea 2019 How much timber will it take to get seven traction engines and steamrollers to and from the 2019 Rocklea Heritage Truck Show? Today, whi...le the HTAA working bee was on at the Rocklea showgrounds, another working bee was on to cut timber to feed the steam engines for their two-day galivant around Rocklea. A total of 8 x 1 tonne bags-worth of timber was cut, plus an additional 2 x 1 tonne bags of pre-cut timber. On average we filled 1 bag every 10 minutes. A massive thanks goes to HTAA member Duncan Rackemann for bringing a ute load of beautiful timber down from Kingaroy today (and then sticking around to help us cut it, too!), Ian Fordyce for donating several ute loads, and William Parrinder for transporting several ute loads donated by a friend at Coominya. A further 4 x 1 tonne bags are being donated by the Queensland Steam and Vintage Machinery Society, Petrie, and this will also be supplemented by a bag or two of coal for the road run component - 14 x 1 tonne bags of timber in total! The saw bench is powered by an early 1900s 6hp International stationary engine, which didnt miss a beat. This event is proudly sponsored by Knights Heavy Towing. See you at the show - May 18 & 19!

09.01.2022 At our monthly Club meeting tonight, the impact of COVID-19 on our annual show in May was discussed. The majority voted to cancel our 2020 annual truck show on 16 & 17 May. It is disappointing for the Club but we must put the safety of our members and the general public first. We would like to reiterate the importance of being vigilant with the processes set out by the health authorities regarding hygiene, social distancing and self isolation. At this point we would like to... thank our members, sponsors and the public for their patience and understanding. The condition round the COVID-19 situation are rapidly changing and we are definitely in uncharted waters. The annual show will be back on, bigger and better for 2021!
