23.01.2022 Soldier Frank Verrall, from Upper Hermitage, the youngest son of George and Elizabeth Verrall, served in WWI. Then he enlisted for WWII, along with two sons.

15.01.2022 Five years ago. Reg was in good spirits and so was Beryl. Sadly they have moved on. Good memories. Thank you Heather for bringing Reg up for his finial visit to the old Hermitage Schools and Church

15.01.2022 Private Joan Emily McEwin, Service Number SX14793, daughter of Roy and Helen Parkyn McEwin, from "Glen Ewin", Lower Hermitage, Houghton, South Australia, served in the Australian Army Nursing Service (Voluntary Aid Overseas Service). Joan enlisted on 09 October 1941 at Wayville, SA and sadly was believed to have died from meningitis on board a Hospital Ship near Suez, on 22nd November 1941, aged 29 years. Joan's remains were interred in the Suez War Memorial Cemetery. Information from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

10.01.2022 We are looking for any Residents who would be interested in contributing stories and/or photos to our history book recording the events leading up to during and... following the Sampson Flat Bushfire that began on Friday 2nd Jan, 2015. All sales of the book will be donated to the Country Fire Service. Please note that the cut off date will be 30th June, 2018. Jan, Denise and Kathy.
