25.01.2022 Sneak peak of what I’m working on.

25.01.2022 So more progress on the RX7. As room was tight around the turbo outlet a 90’ cast bend was welded onto the front cover as well as a Plazaman clamp fitting, then a matching pipe welded onto the intercooler tank. A Turbosmart 50mm race port blow off valve fitting welded on near the throttle body and that’s the intake side complete. Also made up some linkages for between the shifter and sequential gearbox.... That’s all the major work out of the way (for me anyway) only thing left is to mount a few tanks I think.

25.01.2022 So finishing touches complete on the RX-7, I stitch welded and re-sealed the gearbox body mounts as it was mentioned these are a weak point. Put a mount on the dump pipe and air filter intake pipe and lastly mounted the oil catch can and gearbox breather to the firewall. Job Done... So total work completed by me: -Custom gearbox crossmember -Stitch weld gearbox body mounts... -Modify diff mount so the pinion angle matched the gearbox -4 Dump/front pipe with o2 sensor mount -Mount intercooler -alloy Intake piping -BOV mount -Twin screamer pipes -Sequential gearbox linkages -Catchcan and Gbox breather tank mounting. Jeff’s old man is a avid polisher and going to give all the alloy the mirror finish treatment. Can’t wait to see it and wish Jeff the best of luck with finishing off the build and getting her on the track!

21.01.2022 Michaels SR20DET packed KE70 came in for some small jobs. First one was to replace the radiator mounts with slightly nicer items. Few other tidy up brackets, 4link box’s and turbo compressor outlet modification is also on the list

19.01.2022 Smaller job yesterday. When fitting an aftermarket booster to a Torana (or a lot of old cars) the new boosters usually have a threaded rod and a Clevis where as Torana’s just use a pin with no means of adjustment. So a bunch of pics were sent through and a adaptor rod was made with threads to suit the new booster but the pin to suit the pedal.... No job to big or too small for Hermit

18.01.2022 What in the world am I making?!

15.01.2022 Cold side pipe done, first time I’ve use the Plazaman clamps, expensive but quite nice. Never have to worry about blowing hoses!

12.01.2022 Small Job Id did for John who is using a factory intercooler (from a Lancer EVO from memory) on his custom build he wanted the intercooler inlet/outlet modified to suit 3" piping.

12.01.2022 Few small jobs on Mitch’s drift pig R33. It was originally auto but he has fitted a manual box, turns out there is 3 or 4 different crossmember’s and he was having trouble finding the right one so decided to just get one made. It must be a quick shift gearbox as it was painted a lovely red so it must be faster Next he asked that I weld on an external wastegate port to the turbine housing as a quick and dirty solution to the stock manifold not having one. Lastly not being a fan of tight radius silicone bends on the compressor due to their tendency to blow clamps I modified the compressor welding on a cast alloy bend to match it up with the Plazaman intercooler piping kit.

10.01.2022 Want the best of both worlds when it comes to having a loud exhaust but also stock sounding on command? An Electric exhaust cutout is a simple and effective option, These ones are stand alone cutout's but you can also get complete mufflers with them built in. Simply wired into a 12v switched supply and controlled with a remote keyfob. Can be actuated anywhere between fully closed and fully open ... This one I fit to a Subaru Forrester GT just before the rear muffler.

10.01.2022 Inlet pipe pretty much done, just need to get a 4 silicone joiner, not sure if the masking tape will hold. Also want to put a mounting point on the body at the air filter end so it doesn’t flop about.

08.01.2022 Quick little job the other day, James wanted to fit a Hilux diff to his Corolla so I made a pair of leaf spring diff mounts and welded them in the required location on the Hilux diff being sure to get the pinion angle correct. James reports it all bolted up perfectly.

06.01.2022 Still hoping to get a good driveby video of it on full noise as the ecu limits redline to a lowly 4500rpm while stationary. But still sounds sweet!

04.01.2022 So it turns out that S14-15 SR20DET rocker covers have a lot better oil baffles then the S13 covers which tend to push a lot of oil out the breather pipes but a S14-15 cover has the extra lump at the front to accomodate the VCT so it cannot be bolted onto a S13 head... The Answer? S13.5 FrankenCover. Cut the front portion off a S13 rocker cover (red one), do the same on the S14 cover (white one) then weld the S13 front on. I also repaired one of the Broken off bolt hole lug...s. Removed the press in hose fittings and tapped the holes to accomodate some AN fittings and For some reason the S14 cover was missing all the coil and coil cover mounting holes?! I was expecting to find bog under the paint but nope was solid aluminium? So drilled/tapped them also. This cover is heading to a customer in America as Silvia stuff is super rare over there, I sourced both covers here locally. Even here it was hard to get my hands on a S14/15 cover.

04.01.2022 Custom 4" Stainless Snorkel for an early model Hilux I made for Corey. Currently just the standard airbox modified to suit will possibly be adding a custom airbox in future :)

02.01.2022 Couple of Screamer pipes done for the twin 40mm water cooled Turbosmart wastegates on Jeff’s RX-7

02.01.2022 So have been busy golfing this last week. Dantae came to me requesting something a little different after seeing something similar in Europe. Delete the rear muffler but make it look cool. The rear muffler was a monster, internally valved and weights about 10kg! Dropped that sucker out and trimmed back the rear bumper a little. Then the fun began, just shy of 40hrs of exhausting work and roughly 580-600 lineal inches of weld. ... I was worried that after all this work it wouldn't sound good... Got it off the hoist completed today and we fired her up. Did not disappoint! Video to come soon. Or can see it at the Montrose meet tonight.

01.01.2022 Simple 2D plate machined from 3mm Aluminium which is destined to be a steering wheel for a Gaming rig a customer is building.

01.01.2022 4 Stainless Dump/front pipe pretty much finished, just need to add a mount to take the weight off the back of the turbo. Tied into the existing exhaust for now but Jeff is thinking of going side pipe in future.
