For a while, I’ve been wanting to create this space - yoga and oils for defence and veterans wives/partners So often, we sacrifice our own wellbeing to support the ones we love serve their country - and now it’s time to spend the morning together and do some yoga... This has come about from.the Amazing team at Forestry SA and can not thank the team enough for the opportunity and support. We will transform this space to a family friendly centre with Wood Working, Pre established Nature walking trails and Mountain bike tracks. 25.01.2022 ** S A V E T H E D A T E ** SmartBar Walk for a Veteran with PTSD returns on Saturday 28th August 2021 with a new location in the northern Adelaide Hills. The course this year will be around a 10km loop of which 1/3 will be on the renowned Heysen Trail. The course rises to 470m above sea level and provides some incredible views over the valleys below.... We are giving individuals the option of completing one, two, three or four laps of the course this year, while adding a true relay element to the event with individuals being able to choose how many laps they complete as part of their team. Participants will start and finish each lap in the same location, with a post walk event for participants, supporters, and the general public. (WORKING LINK) Yesterday the Ex-military Rehabilitation Centre was devastated by fire loosing the entire woodworking factory as well as significate damage to the rest of the center. 02.01.2022 Tonight on Fathers day this young Veteran and Father is hurting in unimaginable ways. He has been discharged from Flinders ER in Adelaide and on the streets. This young Soldier and father has made some mistakes but is asking for help. HOTH is working tirelessly to find him stable support however every Ex Service organisation in Adelaide who can deliver vital support is refusing to help due to the past. 01.01.2022 A HUGE BLOW TO THE VETERAN COMMUNITY. As a lot of you are aware @heroes_on_the_homefront has been working very closely with the Ex-Military Rehabilitation Centre Inc.military Rehabilitation Centre, donating Timber and a brand new Makita tool kit on Monday to better equip the centre for new projects for younger veterans. Today the unthinkable happened and in the blink of an eye the centre has been destroyed by fire. Not only were our first Memorial tables destroyed but hundred...s of thousands of dollars of tools, memorabilia and equipment leaving a huge hole in the Veterans space. We are devastated that a few steps foward has turned into a massive step back and we are now without a space and the equipment to ensure these vital veterans projects can carry on.
