18.01.2022 Approximately 30 people attended the AGM today and it was great to see some old faces return since the Covid19 shut down. The HBAS reopened in June with government health measures in place. For the last time the Hon Ted Sorensen MP, HBAS Patron since 2000, officiated the AGM. Ted is retiring from public office in October and will be sorely missed. A great supporter for the Arts in Hervey Bay starting as a Councillor in 1994, Mayor 2000-2008 before entering politics in 2009. ...While Councillor/Mayor of the Hervey Bay Council Ted was one of the instigators for the building of the Library and Regional Art Gallery {that was opposite the Library, the Library up until that time was in a "tin shed" in Main Street}. Mark Brose was reelected as President and Rolf Sieber as Vice President. The General Meeting followed the AGM with many new ideas contributed by members for the Executive to put into place. Since Covid19 it has been unfortunate that Gallery 5 over many weekends has been closed due lack of volunteers. A suggestion was made that these hours could be reduced to open peak times, eg 10-3. Help is needed for the weekends and if members can spare just 3 hours it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact the Gallery direct or msge FB and it will be passed on.

Many thanks to our volunteers, Dianne and her team for curating this fabulous Exhibition. This is, from all comments one of our best Abstract Exhibits ever, so, many many thanks to all Artists who contributed.
