24.01.2022 Well here we are nearly three Months into our Quarantine for the COVID-19 Pandemic, and we hope that all is well for our Members and Families... As far as we know there has been none of our Members of HBBC Inc. contracted the disease, but we have had a few other Members that have been ill and we wish them all a speedy recovery.................................................................................................. We have noticed that one of the other Clubs are being... used with we presume their members having Roll Ups, remember that you too can have a roll up Free of Charge, at HBBC., always keeping the nominated distance rules in place.......................... If any other Bowler Roll ups take place on our Greens, by Non Members of Our Club or Visitors they should pay the Fee that is normally asked For..... This may sound harsh but that is what should happen, because some of the other Clubs have had total Shutdown ......................................................................................................................................... Any way enough of that ! ........We hope that any of our Members and families have handled this Isolation well and have all the Spring Cleaning and Garden Areas up to date and standing to attention......Any of you who may have been ill during this time we hope that that is over for you and you are well on the road to recovery, if not and you are still not feeling right we are thinking of you.......... Please let me know if you are unwell and need a call but I would hope that some of our Members are keeping an EYE on one another............... 17.01.2022 Went shopping the other Day and went past Pialba BC they had approx. twelve bowlers on the Greens, not sure if Kosha but that is there worry... Went for Roll-up myself Tuesday and was bowling great pity the Selection Board weren't there.. might have got a game.... Then I remembered for Pennant you have to put your name down, and make yourself available........... It has been stated before but the Club and the GREENS look Great, once again thanks to a FEW GOOD MEN, that could be a Movie....

14.01.2022 With regret the club has to announce that all roll-ups on our greens are not permitted until further notice. A separate email has been sent to registered members explaining the reasons behind this decision.

11.01.2022 Hello everyone! We at Hervey Bay Bowls Club are not ignoring you. A nearby lightning strike today caused a power surge which knocked out the internet modem. This means the club currently has no internet or PHONE SERVICE. This will probably not be fixed till the end of this week. If you ring and don't get an answer or the message bank that is why. 11.01.2022 Great news for our bowlers: We get back to our normal bowls program from this coming Wednesday 8 July. Please register for games as per the usual method.... You will still be asked to observe hygiene and sanitizing rules at all times, plus social distancing rules off the greens and in the clubhouse. You will also have to supply a phone number when you register for contact tracing purposes should it be required. Looking forward to competitve bowls again!

11.01.2022 a Personal Tribute to : Peter Gardner, ( Life Member ) Hervey Bay Bowls Club, This man was one of the main people who hold a Club together, and do it with a Smile, and a Laugh... Whenever somebody needed a hand with anything , Club, Personal, or a Friendly Partner in a game, Peter was always there. He was a real trooper who loved his wife Helen and Family, and did many things to help his Church, and many others as well. Suzanne & I classed him as a True Friend, of which I am sure many of you feel the same way & also agree. .... Our Deepest Condolences to Helen and the Family and may he Rest In Peace for he was a TRUE GENTLEMAN..

09.01.2022 HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY ..............To all of our Mothers as members of the HBBC, not forgetting the wives of our male Members...................... we also pay our Respects to those MOTHERS who may have passed previously........ Mother's Day is the time to Remember just how much we appreciate our Ladies & Mothers who have done so much for our Family Life, and given us Family we have......................................... So once again Ladies have a Lovely MOTHERS DAY.........

01.01.2022 As the government are trying to figure out how to ease back into a new normal, please remember: Some people don’t agree with the suggested reopening.... that’s okay. Be kind. Some people are still planning to stay at home.... that’s okay. Be kind. Some are still scared of getting the virus and a second wave happening.... that’s okay. Be kind.... Some are sighing with relief to go back to work knowing they may possibly save their business or their homes....that’s okay. Be kind. Some are thankful they can finally have a surgery they have put off....that’s okay. Be kind. Some will be able to attend interviews after weeks without a job....that’s okay. Be kind. Some will wear masks for weeks....that’s okay. Be kind. Some people will rush out to get the hair or nails done.... that’s okay. Be kind. The point is, everyone has different viewpoints/feelings and that’s okay. Be kind. We each have a different story. If you need to stay home, stay home. But be kind. If you need to go out, just respect others when in public and be kind! Don’t judge fellow humans because you’re not in their story. We all are in different Financial - and - Mental states than we were months ago. So remember, be kind. See more

Club management are reviewing the announcements to see whether we can get bowls restarted earlier than the anticipated date and under what conditions. Look out for further news this week.
