16.01.2022 DAD SCOUT LETTER Someone asked me - Why do you spend money and time for your kids to be in scouts, do activities and go camping?- MY ANSWER WAS: Well I have ...a confession to make, I don't pay and I give my time for my kids to wear a uniform and attend camps. Do you know what I'm investing for? For my children to learn to be disciplined For my children to learn how to take care of their body and mind To appreciate and value nature For my kids to learn how to work with others and be good teammates. To develop their creativity. For my kids to learn how to deal with disappointment when they don't get what they expected, and discover that the key is to work harder. So they learn to achieve their goals. So my kids understand that it takes hours and hours of hard work and training to get results, and that success doesn't happen overnight. For the opportunity my kids will have to make friendships for life. So my kids are learning and not in front of the TV. For those moments when my kids come back so tired they just want to get to rest and don't think or have time to walk lazy or bad things. For all the teachings this great movement gives them: responsibility, delivery, commitment, civility, respect, love of nature, coexistence, etc, etc.". I could go on, but to be brief; I don't pay for sculpture classes, because even their scouters volunteer, they don't receive a euro for providing their time, creativity and knowledge, let alone for their love and patience. Thank you for the opportunities offered by the scout movement to develop attributes and skills that will be very useful throughout your life and give you the opportunity to value life, to BUILD A BETTER WORLD (Scout Group)

03.01.2022 Each year Scout Groups across the State have proudly participated in local ANZAC Day ceremonies and parades. Current restrictions around gatherings mean we are ...unable to do this in 2020. This year we’re inviting members from all Groups and all Sections to participate in our Camp@Home ANZAC 2020 Experience. To register for the event visit: https://bit.ly/snswanzacexperience Set up your own ANZAC campsite at home, enjoy camp activities and participate in the ANZAC Day end of your driveway Vigil on the morning of 25 April. You can also complete challenges to earn the 2020 Their Service, Our Heritage badge and the Camp@Home ANZAC Experience 2020 badge. ANZAC Day is an important annual event and a timely opportunity to bring together our Scouting community to commemorate, show respect and gain a deeper understanding about ANZAC Day and those who have served and currently serve Australia.
