23.01.2022 At Hewcrete we are also a massive fan of small, local, honest and quality business, just as we ourselves try to be. so when you come along one, we like to give a big shoutout hoping that the people that see this, will be able to benefit from them just as much as we did. After being stuffed around and taking for a ride by many mechanics, Hewcrete was highly recommended to Ricks mechanical repairs - research road Pooraka. These guys were amazing, a versatile team of guys from a...ll different backgrounds in the mechanical repair trade, that come together to make an efficient team. 23.01.2022 Ending the week with a nice lil 30m2 shed out in Hove. A 32mpa machine finish all wrapped up at 4pm, ready for the owner to be able to sort his carport out by the end of the weekend. Final weekend off for Hewcrete before we go Monday straight till Christmas eve, starting with a whole house external concrete in oankaparinga, to sealing in Plypmton , before wrapping it up with a driveway in lightsview!... 22.01.2022 And this is why we do it! Always nice receiving feed back like this. As many of my fellow concreters know, this is one tough game subjected strongly to weather, supply and all the rest of the things that can not be physically controlled or mentally planned. We have had many obstacles and cancellations on this project for Ashlee, a wet spring dealing with black oxide concrete can lead to many cancellations, and the final one being a faulty product that was out of Hewcretes con...trol. But instead of walking away or giving a half ass job, we bit our lip, packed up the truck, and returned as many times as we need to, to make sure we got the job done right, and with our best efforts on the day. Doing so has lead to a quality job at Ashlee’s, that we will see soon sealed to perfection over the next few weeks. 22.01.2022 Working through the weekend at Hewcrete to finish up at Plympton with 2x coats of sealer to @geostoneholcim charcoal Jaffa double driveway, double dead side paths and front garden steps, once all cured, clean and sealed, this one came up a treat. 32mpa exposed mix, quarry rubble compacted base, paint on house footing water proofing, and foam flex to all structural areas... this job had the works.... Big shout out to @adelaide.suburban.concreting and @adelaideexclusiveconcreting for the solid effort and craftsmanship as always. Once that sealer goes on, it’s really shows all the effort put in. Alan from Jones Earthmoving who gave Hewcrete a massive week in the prep days to see this complete before Christmas. 21.01.2022 Some crisp and clean grey pathing out at gawler south this morning. 50m2 of 32mpa reinforced buy SL72 mesh. Base all compacted with 50-75mm of quarry rubble and all house footings paint on water proofed to insure a clean look from external view. The heat was on today! 20.01.2022 We kicked off monday with a 100m2 driveway pour out at Clarence Park for Escape Creations. A 32mpa Jaffa mix by @geostoneholcim , Hewcrete came in to box up and pour, with the boys from Escape laying the base preparation and steel reinforcing. 17.01.2022 A nice start to the week beating the unpredictable weather with some indoor word for Capital Retails new fit out - Dulux trade centre going up in Morphett Vale. Originally a 400mm high reverse loading dock. Hewcrete got the call up to transfer it into a new ramp for electric forklifts and trolley jacks. Starting with side walls and then continuing with the main ramp.... All expoy dowled, steeled, supplied and finished to engineers request, all ready for a polish in later dates to come. 15.01.2022 A solid effort form the boys today with a 50m2 driveway extension for a home renovator in Modbury Heights. Concrete on the ground, screeded and bull floated within 50mins.. tools clean and truck loaded, outa there by 11:30am. 32mpa grey nonslip finish, all dimensions under builders request, and plenty of tool joints to match the existing piece the builder decided to keep. 10.01.2022 Kicking off Monday with a nice 135m2 combined shed floor, surrounding paths and driveway apron. All quarry rubble base solidly prepped by Alan from jones earthmoving, before we moved in with steel preparation using SlL82 mesh reinforcing and N12 crack bars around all shed post. It was a 10 hour day in Adelaide’s 31 degree spring heat, but with the right crew onboard, Hewcrete was very happy with the result, and so was the owner with this 32mpa burnt to reflection! We head bac...k to saw cut bringing along our high pressure washer to clean up anything that was maybe missed.... A Hansons 6% liquid black oxide ebony mix, all reinforcing is SL72 with epoxy doweling into existing, no invert extension at owners request. 09.01.2022 A cruisey little reinforced beam today out at Elizabeth shopping centre for Capital Pty Ltd - shop fit out building company. A Engineered n12 beam with W8 ligs, Hewcrete came in to a pre dug trench, layed plastic, steel, poured and packed up in 4 hours. Clean and leaving the site immaculate. 05.01.2022 Our books are full for 2020! Today we penciled in our last job for 2020, with pencilling in some new builds, plus making sure we get back to all our past jobs to finish off the sealing and final touches. It’s a good feeling from a company that kicked off only 1 year ago to have been booked out for the last few past month, months to come and with a lot secured for the new year. It’s a gruelling, unforgiving trade that only my fellow concreters would understand.... We work day by day with a perishable product governed constantly by weather, man power and supply bookings, so too see it all come together on the days that it does, well it’s a sense of pride I feel you couldn’t get from another trade. Thankyou to all friends, family members, mates in the industry and every loyal customer that Hewcrete has had the pleasure of doing work for so far, you guys have taken me from Callington to Lewiston, gawler to aldinga and have helped set the foundation of what I hope will be prosperous future, always doing the best I can, to leave behind quality work.... well until my back let’s me! 04.01.2022 Ending the week with a 90m2 combined shed and surrounding paths. All a @geostoneholcim 32mpa smooth hard finish inside, and classic non slip smudge on the outta. Prep, pour and of course returning to saw cut and give the whole inside and outside a pressure wash to insure a crisp and clean job, getting any spots missed and of course customer satisfaction. This was a very tight access job, on a huge sloping block. The street was as high as the house roof, and the back alfresco ...was as high as the new 60m2 shed roof! 04.01.2022 ANY CONCRETER CAN MAKE CONCRETE LOOK PRETTY!. But the structural integrity starts of with solid base preparation, and today we did just that. 20 tonne later we turned this messy shed floor and perimeter paths in to a solid ground ready for steel reinforcement and concrete! A huge shoutout to Alan from Jones earthmoving, that made a very tight access job look easy with a combination of earthmoving machines and a strong knowledge of how to use them! Smashed it.... As we try to advise all customers at Hewcrete, it may cost you a bit more having a compacted base, but what you’ll get from it you’ll see in years and years to come.
