18.01.2022 EMERGENCY TEXT MESSAGING SERVICE Following feedback from families, we have investigated a text messaging service, called ClickSend, for emergency use. The first emergency contact listed will receive a text in an emergency situation. We are looking to trial this early next week. More details will be provided later. This service is in addition to Skoolbag, Facebook and Class Dojo in our attempt to ensure families are notified.

12.01.2022 ATTENDANCE SURVEY UPDATE Thank you to the 276 families that have responded to our survey. There are still over a 100 families we really need a response from. Survey link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZDMG7WL... We understand it has been glitchy for some and we realise families have been placed under a lot of stress today. We do apologise if you feel bombarded by the school with this but we are really trying to ensure we have the needs of your children met so our essential service providers can go to work. Please remember that if someone is home that can care for your children then that is where they need to be. We will all get through this together.

11.01.2022 SCHOOL IS BACK WEDNESDAY We wish all our families a Happy New Year and look forward to another year of learning. School resumes on Wednesday the 27th of January.... Don't forget to send your children to school with their drink bottles. Water fountains will still remain off but they are able to fill them using the taps inside buildings.

10.01.2022 HEWETT PRIMARY OPEN MONDAY

10.01.2022 ICY POLE DAY - FINAL FOR 2020 Tomorrow is the last Icy Pole Day for 2020. Quelches for sale ... Cost: $1. Only one per student and money will go to class teachers in the morning. Let’s enjoy the last one for the year! The school really appreciates the support of the parent volunteers who have made out Icy Pole Days happen for our students. Sacrificing your time is difficult but we truly thank you for your commitment and dedication to the students at Hewett Primary School.

06.01.2022 DID YOU SAY YES? Some people have responded to the survey by saying 'Yes' that they are sending their children to school but then didn't answer Questions 2 and 3 to let us know how many are attending and what their names are. This is very unhelpful! If you have done this please re-do the survey so we can ensure staff/student ratios are in place to care for your children. You are only sending your children if you are an essential service worker and there is no one in the home to care for your children.

03.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE #1 2021

02.01.2022 SPORTS DAY COLOURS We have had a few phone calls this morning asking what the names of the teams are or which colours are which. Attached is an image to help you. Students do not need to wear a complete outfit of their team colour. You may have a polo shirt, you may have hair ribbons, you may have socks. It is really up to you as a family to decide what your children wear. We just ask that their are no clothing labels with obscenities or inappropriate words or pictures on them.

01.01.2022 As you will be aware the Premier has called a Statewide lockdown for the next 6 days beginning tonight. We are asking ALL families to complete the following survey (click the link). This is REALLY important that you do this: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZDMG7WL This means that all schools will be closed on Thursday 19th, Friday 20th, Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th. There will be a skeleton staff only on site for children of ESSENTIAL SERVICES ONLY. Children of ESSENTIAL SER...VICES who have the attend school will need to come to the front office at the beginning of the day. Please be mindful that the children who NEED to attend school will be supervised, it will not be a normal classroom teaching situation. If you have a parent, a carer or relative at home then the children need to stay home. OSHC will only be available for ESSENTIAL SERVICES ONLY. Students this afternoon will be told and will be sent home with some books and some work to do over the next few days. Teachers will also provide some work via Dojo. If the situation changes we will be in touch with families via Dojo, Facebook and Skoolbag. I understand this is a very difficult and challenging time for all and in the best interests of everyone we need to follow the advice of SA Health and the Premier. Hopefully I will see you all next Wednesday.
